The Inaugural Critter Crawl<\/strong> is coming up May 4<\/strong> and will start at The Growler <\/strong>at 2 pm. The group will then travel to The Corner<\/strong>, St. Leo\u2019s Lounge<\/strong>, Funky\u2019s<\/strong>, Rooster\u2019s<\/strong>, Round Table<\/strong>, and finish out the day at Harrison\u2019s 1810<\/strong>. This years theme is \u201cCritters\u201d so come dressed as your favorite critter. There will be prizes given away for Most Creative and Best Dressed costume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will also be prizes given away at a few of the bars for miscellaneous things\u2014so make sure you\u2019re up-to-date on all of your animal trivia and local bar facts. Wristbands are $20 and you can get your very own Critter Crawl t-shirt for $20. All proceeds will go to help the homeless animals of Oxford<\/strong> and Lafayette County<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MS Critterz<\/strong> event organizer Caitlan Covington<\/strong> stated, \u201cWe\u2019re really excited about this event. Since we are a new organization, we have been trying to find events for the community that people will look forward to for years to come. We have had so much fun planning this event and can\u2019t wait to see how the community reacts to it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked what the funds raised from this event will go towards, Caitlan said, \u201cWe have many projects planned in the coming months. We are hoping to make some additions to Quarantine, purchase more puppy banks, put the finishing touches on our new Free-Roaming Cat Room, purchase a size-appropriate washer, a shipping container for storage, and a desktop computer for our adoption\/transport office, and paint the shelter to just name a few.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MS Critterz started off their contract with big goals to say the least, and they are certainly on track to reaching those! They have a number of transports that leave every month as well as many events throughout the year to promote adoption in the community as well as raising community awareness for Spay and Neuter.
