Local pianist Damein Wash<\/strong> will debut his new film, The Two Headed Woman<\/em>, this Sunday, January 20th, at 7 pm, in the Nutt Auditorium<\/strong> at the University of Mississippi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wash’s debut film stars local talent Effie Burt<\/strong>, Michelle Jones<\/strong>, Kimberly Dudley<\/strong>, and Jaime Adams<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wash was inspired to write the screen play based on experiences from his youth. Half-remembered instances, over-heared “grown-up” conversations, and frightening fables adults would tell children to elicit good behavior inspired the screenplay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story is one of sisterhood. “Mary Anne”, ever trying to spread the good news of the gospel, invites her pregnant sister “Lisa Mae” and coworker “Chrissy” to a revival at a small rural church. It just so happens this church lies deep in the woods of what local folks call \u201cthe Prair\u2019,\u201d a frightening place where where tales of horror abound.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although she\u2019s not a local, Chrissy is familiar with the area, having visited a psychic who lives down the road from the church, colloquially called the two-headed woman. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lisa Mae becomes increasingly curious to go to the two-headed woman to inquire about suspicions of her cheating husband. Against Mary Anne\u2019s wishes, the three women make their way down the road to the house of this mysterious woman.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After her visit to the two-headed woman, Lisa Mae, complains of dizzy spells, becomes withdrawn, and is terrorized by a dark presence around her house. Concerned for Lisa Mae\u2019s physical and mental health, and the unborn child, Mary Ann attempts to rely on faith to save her sister.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When prayers go unanswered, Mary Anne reluctantly goes to the two-headed woman. The two-headed woman tells Mary Anne that her sister\u2019s mind is entrapped by a curse. Mary Ann is left with the decision to rely on faith or fight back at the behest of the two-headed woman to save her sister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Damein Wash is an accomplished musician from Oxford, Mississippi.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hailing from Oxford<\/strong>, Mississippi<\/strong>, Damein Wash has spent a lifetime as a professional musician, an avid performer, taking his music to large cities across the United States and Europe. Wash\u2019s recordings have been featured in Hallmark <\/strong>films and daytime television\u2019s Young and the Restless<\/em>. As composer, his scores include arranging and conducting Deep South Gospel<\/strong> for Sony<\/strong>\u2019s Moonshine Recording<\/em>, which was featured on Starz<\/strong>\u2019s American Gods<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
