On Friday, April 5th from 5\u20138 pm, Art2Frame will host an opening reception for their latest exhibit, \u201cThe Last Minute.\u201d<\/strong> There will be live music by CadillacFunk<\/strong>, as well as food and refreshements.<\/p>\n

Doug Northern<\/strong>\u00a0is a life-long Memphian whose lineage is one of craftsman- and artisanship. His great-grandfather was a carpenter and maker of furniture. His grandfather was a marvelous sign painter, some of which could have just as well been murals. His father is an architect who learned much of his craft from his uncle. And then there is Doug, who can\u2019t remember a time when he wasn\u2019t scribbling, drawing, or painting on something.
\nHis innumerable influences encompass everything from primitive to Byzantine to non-representational to naturalistic\u2014and quite often, many combinations of all these and more. \u201cThe subjects that intrigue me are often times those things that haunt me, either because they did happen…or they did not,\u201d says Doug. \u201cWhen I see a painting I\u2019ve made I am usually as surprised as the next person.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chantel Barber<\/strong> remembers being a passionate artist from early childhood. When it comes to mediums, she favors pastel and acrylic. Each painting she creates reflects her heart and soul. Her art represents a journey of stylistic growth, revealing her love for variety and hidden beauty. Chantel is the owner of Chantel\u2019s Originals, providing fine art, commissioned portraits and workshops. She lives in Bartlett, Tennessee, with her husband and two sons. Her work is owned by private and public collectors throughout the United States and overseas, from the famed B.B. Kings Blues Club located on Beale Street in Memphis, to a primary school serving children in rural Brazil.<\/p>\n

Architect, former attorney, and Vietnam Veteran (Attack Helicopter pilot), Gary Gibson<\/strong> has been an artist for over three decades. Gary\u2019s recent interests are in drawing and painting; his sculpture, oil painting, pastels, and pen and ink drawings have been displayed across the South and in nationally juried shows. Gary is a past President and a Gold star member of the Memphis Germantown Art League, an associate member of the Oil Painters of America, a member of Artists Link (Memphis, Tenn.), The Delta Art Association (Mississippi), and a member of Plein Air Memphis.<\/p>\n

Nancy Moore<\/strong> grew up in the Baltimore, Maryland, area and studied art privately for many years before entering the University of Maryland at College Park where she received her B.A. in Art. She later received her M.F.A. in art from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.<\/p>\n

She has taught art on the community college level for many years in the Baltimore and northern Virginia area. Since then she has taught elementary school, high school, and middle school art in Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, and Mississippi. She taught Art for Elementary students at the University of Mississippi.
\nHer work has been exhibited in each of these four states and includes works in gouache, watercolor, oil, fiber art and assemblage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
