{"id":49626,"date":"2018-10-31T15:31:47","date_gmt":"2018-10-31T21:31:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=49626"},"modified":"2018-10-31T15:32:18","modified_gmt":"2018-10-31T21:32:18","slug":"oxcm-presents-free-farmer-to-farmer-workshop-season-extension-year-marketing-for-small-growers-food-producers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/oxcm-presents-free-farmer-to-farmer-workshop-season-extension-year-marketing-for-small-growers-food-producers\/","title":{"rendered":"OXCM Presents Free Farmer-to-Farmer Workshop: Season Extension &#038; Year-Marketing For Small Growers &#038; Food Producers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Oxford Community Market<\/strong>, a nonprofit weekly farmers market, is hosting the first in a series of free <strong>Farmer-To-Farmer workshops<\/strong> for farmers and local food producers in north Mississippi and beyond, from 10 am\u20132 pm November 8 at <strong>Insight Park Conference Room<\/strong> at 850 Insight Parker Ave in <strong>Oxford<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;The workshop series is part of a project supported by a USDA Farmers Market Promotion Program Grant that the market was proud to receive in late 2017,&#8221; said Betsy Chapman, director of OXCM. &#8220;As part of this USDA project, OXCM plans to support local growers and food producers who are interested in transitioning to year-round production and marketing.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This workshop will cover <strong>Season Extension &amp; Year-Marketing For Small Growers &amp; Food Producers<\/strong>. The workshop is free and open to the public but reservations are required.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;This workshop is open to all farmers and food producers, new or beginning farmers, or people interested in the local food economy\u2014not just those who currently sell at Oxford Community Market,&#8221; said Chapman. &#8220;Our vision is to support local food folks at all levels, from professional, long-time farmers to those just getting started.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Interested farmers and food producers may register online at <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/gjAx9OeRq8psHYpW2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/gjAx9OeRq8psHYpW2<\/a>.
