The 4th Annual Hill Country Boucherie and Blues Picnic<\/strong> hosted by Home Place Pastures<\/strong> welcomes featured chefs and noted musicians for a two-day culinary event unlike any in the region. Held August 17\u201318<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> on the Bartlett family farm just east of Como, Mississippi<\/strong>, the Boucherie and Picnic celebrates local rural culture while reviving Southern meat traditions like whole animal utilization\u2014or in hog speak, using the \u201crooter to the tooter.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMusic, food, all these amazing chefs . . . I\u2019m just glad to be invited and be a part of it,\u201d says Hunter Evans<\/strong>, Chef de Cuisine, Lou\u2019s Full-Serv<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bigger than ever, the weekend opens Friday night with a line-up of artists from Oxford’s\u00a0Muscle Beach Records<\/strong>\u00a0and concludes Saturday night with a down home blues picnic featuring world renowned Hill Country Blues<\/strong> and Gospel musicians (www.homeplacepastures<\/a> for full musical line-up).\u00a0 Designed to be a complete on-farm experience, the weekend event also offers guests tailored event packages from the $90 Boucherie Dinner to a $40 Camping Pass that includes entrance to Friday and Saturday\u2019s music. Hiking, farm tours, swimming, fishing, and volleyball are also available throughout the weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n

With nearly two dozen chefs and restaurants participating this year from New Orleans<\/strong> to Nashville<\/strong> and everywhere in between, guests can indulge in everything from oysters to charcuterie\u2014all the while enjoying music from local artists who carry on Hill Country musical traditions with global fame and influence. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
