White will join the Museum for an evening performance and discussion of his most recent album,\u00a0<strong><em>Rain Crow<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0Produced by his son, <strong>Jody White<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>Rain Crow<\/em>\u00a0summons recollections of long ago, when animals foretold the weather, tongue-talking worshippers proved their faith by handling deadly snakes, and a \u201cbad wind\u201d could drive a man to the edge of insanity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Tony Joe White is as authentic as they come. With roots in <strong>Louisiana<\/strong>, he is known for popularizing <strong>swamp music<\/strong>. His swamp rock sound is a mix of <strong>Delta blues<\/strong>, <strong>Cajun<\/strong>, <strong>country<\/strong>, and <strong>rock and roll<\/strong>. But White is most famous for writing songs that have been performed by musical greats such as <strong>Elvis Presley<\/strong>, <strong>Ray Charles<\/strong>, and <strong>Tina Turner<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cThe Museum is all about celebrating our musical heroes, and I feel that there are still so many people who need to be educated on the contributions of Tony Joe White,\u201d said GRAMMY Museum Mississippi Executive Director <strong>Emily Haven<\/strong>s. \u201cHe is like your favorite home-cooked meal. In his music you hear the warmth, comfort, and familiarity that one can only get at home.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">White&#8217;s best-known songs include his own hit recording of <strong>&#8220;Polk Salad Annie&#8221;<\/strong> and the Southern soul standard <strong>&#8220;Rainy Night in Georgia.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">GRAMMY Museum Mississippi is located at 800 W.
