\"\"<\/a>This Saturday, foodies and bourbon lovers will take over the Old Armory Pavilion<\/strong> from noon until 3 pm. The Oxford Bourbon Festival and Auction<\/strong> will be in full swing this weekend, with all proceeds to benefit the\u00a0Move On Up Mississippi Foundation<\/strong>, which\u00a0“inspires and funds educational youth initiatives focused on health, well-being and physical activity.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The tasting will feature a half dozen or so labels, including Woodford Reserve<\/strong>,\u00a0Rich Grain Distilling Co.<\/strong>, Firestone and Robertson Distilling Co.<\/strong>, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to chat with the distillers while sampling the many different bourbons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There will also be a bar and small bites prepared by award-winning and notable chefs, including Matthew Bell<\/strong> of South on Main<\/strong> (Little Rock, Ark.<\/strong>), Cole Ellis<\/strong> of The Delta Meat Market<\/strong> (Cleveland, Miss.<\/strong>), Mitch McCamey<\/strong> of Kermit’s Outlaw Kitchen<\/strong> (Tupelo, Miss.<\/strong>), among other regional greats.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course you will need tunes while you enjoy your sips and bites, so slide guitarist John Emil<\/strong> will provide live entertainment throughout the afternoon.\u00a0Can’t find a babysitter? Don’t fret! There will be a bouncy house and kid’s area, so this is truly a family-friendly event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“This\u00a0event is our opportunity to share with the community our love of bourbon while fundraising to support grant making opportunities for local organizations focusing on health and well-being of Mississippi children,” said Chef John Currence<\/strong>, Move On Up founder and chef\/owner of The City Grocery Restaurant Group<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
