{"id":45355,"date":"2018-03-19T11:00:54","date_gmt":"2018-03-19T17:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=45355"},"modified":"2018-03-19T11:01:35","modified_gmt":"2018-03-19T17:01:35","slug":"city-of-oxford-lafayette-county-and-university-developing-transportation-master-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/city-of-oxford-lafayette-county-and-university-developing-transportation-master-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"City of Oxford, Lafayette County, and University Developing Transportation Master Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Lafayette County<\/strong> has experienced dramatic change over the past 20 years.\u00a0 Population growth, increased enrollment at the <strong>University of Mississippi<\/strong>, and commercial development along major roadways\u2014like<strong> West Jackson Avenue<\/strong>\u2014have put tremendous pressure on the City and County\u2019s transportation network.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">With this in mind, the <strong>City of Oxford<\/strong> is working with Lafayette County and the University to develop an \u201cLOU Transportation Master Plan\u201d that will provide direction on transportation projects for the next 20 years.\u00a0 At an open house to be held at the <strong>Oxford Conference Center<\/strong> on\u00a0Thursday, March 22, from\u00a05\u20137 pm, residents can talk with, and provide input to, consultants and local officials about their experiences as drivers, riders, cyclists, and pedestrians in the region.
