Seems like \u201cOld Man Winter\u201d won\u2019t go away even at spring break! Don\u2019t let that stop you from dreaming about the upcoming warm and sunny days filled with bright and beautiful flowers and the smell of a fresh cut lawn. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs the trees start budding let\u2019s think outside of \u00a0the boxwood and plan on attending the 2<\/span>nd<\/span> annual Landscaping Camp set for May 25-27. It will be an ideal time to pick up some great tips and tricks from Jeff McManus, Director of Landscape Services for the University of Mississippi, and other professional garden experts, during their hands-on seminars,\u201d said Rosie Vassallo<\/strong> Director of the Camp<\/strong> and Retirement Attraction<\/strong> for Oxford-Lafayette County<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Jeff McManus<\/strong> and his team of professionals have brought The University of Mississippi<\/strong> numerous accolades of being named \u201cThe Most Beautiful Campus\u201d in the nation by Newsweek<\/em>, USA Today<\/em>\u2019s Readers Choice<\/strong> competition, as well as in other national publications including the Princeton Review<\/em>. McManus will reveal some of his secrets as he shares his philosophy, \u201cWork smarter, not harder. \u201c Among other topics will be \u201cCut Flowers,\u201d with Donna Yowell<\/strong>, known for starting the first cut flower garden for the Mississippi Governor\u2019s<\/strong> Mansion<\/strong>, \u201cContainer Gardening\u201d with Garden Mama<\/strong> aka Nellie Neal<\/strong> radio host, and \u201cSouthern Gardens, Southern Food, and Southern Larder\u201d with Melissa Booth Hall<\/strong> from the University of Mississippi\u2019s Southern Foodways Alliance<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tours will also take place aboard the City of Oxford<\/strong>\u2019s Double Decker<\/strong> bus to the magnificent estate of Diane<\/strong> and Dickie Scruggs<\/strong>\u2019 also maintained by McManus. The finale of the camp will be lead by <\/span>Ed Croom<\/strong> a retired botanist from the University of Mississippi, as he will be guiding the campers on an exclusive tour of Rowan Oak<\/strong>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
