Oxford\u2019s Yoknapatawpha Arts Council<\/strong> is proud to host their 9th annual craft beer festival, Miss-I-Sippin\u2019 <\/strong>running March 23\u201325.<\/span><\/p>\n

Miss-I-Sippin\u2019 begins Friday evening with a Brewers’ Banquet hosted by Southern Craft Stove & Tap<\/strong>\"\"<\/a>\u00a0where beer enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet and greet the owners or brewers from <\/span>this year\u2019s featured\u00a0<\/span>breweries. The menu will feature Mississippi favorites by\u00a0<\/span>Southern Crafts\u2019 chef <\/span>Bubba Gross<\/strong> and will also offer flights of craft beer. Games and activities will also be provided at the event to keep the party \u201choppin.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>Delta Pride Catfish<\/strong>,\u00a0Gulf Pride Select Shrimp<\/strong>,\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Sanderson Farms <\/strong>are the sponsors for this event.<\/span><\/p>\n

The following day, the first ever Miss-I-Sippin\u2019 team scavenger hunt will take place. Participants will download an app to navigate the hunt, which will begin at The Growler<\/strong> on Oxford\u2019s Square and take place from noon until 6 pm. The new scavenger hunt app is full of fun games, trivia,\u00a0activities, and free tastings to engage the community and\u00a0connect them with Oxford\u2019s craft beer\u00a0scene from retail spaces to restaurants. Teams will compete the scavenger hunt for chances to\u00a0win beer swag and special prizes at the Firkin Craft Beer Party<\/strong> that evening.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am excited about the app for the scavenger hunt, I think that it will allow the festival to be a city wide event and really give participants an authentic flavor of Oxford,\u201d says Wayne Andrews<\/strong>, director of the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council.<\/span><\/p>\n

The culminating event of Miss-i-sippin will be the annual party at the Pavilion<\/strong>, this year’s\u00a0<\/strong>Firkin Craft Beer Party from 6\u20139 pm Saturday evening. The party offers an evening event that allows families to bring children to\u00a0play while mom and dad sample craft beers, tour food trucks, play games, and enjoy live music.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Sunday, a brunch prepared by chef Bubba Gross will take place back at Southern Craft Stove & Tap from noon to 2 pm to bring the festival to an end.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u201cBeer snobs can drink beer anywhere,\u201d said Andrews.\u00a0 \u201cMiss-i-sippin\u00a0immerses attendees in the community as the brewers’ [banquet], beer scavenger hunt, and closing event at the Pavilion highlight our community and make the event social.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Proceeds from the event support YAC year-round art and community programs.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYoknapatawpha Arts Council hosts four fundraisers a year to sustain the other 322 days of programming that they provide to the Oxford community,\u201d said Tore Christiansen<\/strong>, Miss-I-Sippin event coordinator.<\/span><\/p>\n
