This year\u2019s race will be the Chamber\u2019s 23rd<\/span><\/b>\u00a0as a part of Double Decker weekend<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 The 23<\/span>rd\u00a0annual Double Decker Spring Run<\/strong> will be held\u00a0<\/span>April 28<\/span><\/span>, hosted by the Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe spring run is a great, healthy way to start out a weekend that is such a premiere weekend in our community,\u201d said Pam Swain<\/strong>, senior vice president of the Chamber of Commerce. \u201cWe have such a large, diverse group of people that participate in the run every year, and we really want to see our locals come out and be a part of this longtime tradition for Double Decker.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The run will include three races: a 5K, 10K, and a one-mile Kids’ Fun Run<\/strong>.\u00a0 Registration is now open for the races, which will begin at\u00a07:30 am<\/span><\/span>\u00a0on North Lamar Boulevard at the Oxford YMCA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Double Decker Spring Run is proud to partner with\u00a0Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi\u00a0<\/b>as the presenting sponsor for the 23rd year in a row.\u00a0 Double Decker has grown to nearly 1,600 racers last year who came to Oxford from all over the country.\u00a0 Organizers expect the registrations to top 1700 runners this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

All race participants will receive a race t-shirt and backpack, plus a unique finisher\u2019s medal.\u00a0 Awards are given to the male and females in a variety of age groups, as well as the overall first, second, and third place male and female in each race, and first place masters and grand masters male and female.\u00a0 Following the art theme of the Double Decker weekend, the awards are each one of a-kind-art creations by local artists, designed with the Double Decker theme in mind.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>The Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce will partner with\u00a0Start2Finish<\/b>\u00a0for on site management of this year’s race. Start2Finish\u00a0is the premier health-oriented event management company in the mid-South.
