The City of Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong> has issued a self-imposed precautionary boil water notice for all customers that\u00a0<\/span>receive water from the City of Oxford, including those outside the City limits. <\/span>This notice is following a\u00a0<\/span>water main break near Highway 6. <\/span><\/p>\n

This does not affect the University of Mississippi<\/strong> or private water\u00a0<\/span>associations. <\/span><\/p>\n

The City will be collecting water samples to be tested by the Mississippi Department of\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Health<\/strong>. Results should be available by Tuesday. Pending those results, the boil water notice is expected\u00a0<\/span>to be lifted on Tuesday. <\/span><\/p>\n

Until the precautionary notice is lifted, customers are advised to boil all water\u00a0<\/span>for one minute before using for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing dishes or fruits and\u00a0<\/span>vegetables. <\/span><\/p>\n
