We&#8217;ve got a quick rundown of all the bands playing that day as well as links to check out their music. Give it a read and we&#8217;ll see you at the festival.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0L8pymGmKwQ\"><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong>Sharde Thomas Rising Star Fife &amp; Drum<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><em>(10:15 am)<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Sharde Thomas was born in North Mississippi in 1990 and is the granddaughter of the North Mississippi Fife &amp; Drum Master, the late Otha Turner. Sharde was her grandfather\u2019s heir of the mastery of the Fife &amp; Drum at a young age. Sharde released her debut album in 2010 titled \u201cWhat Do I Do\u201d and released her sophomore album in 2013 titled \u201cShawty Blues\u201d. Sharde has worked with greats like Eric Clapton, Bobby Rush, Cyndi Lauper, Mavis Staples, The Wandering, The North Mississippi All-Stars, and many others. She is the lead vocalist and plays the Fife in the \u201cRising Stars Fife &amp;\u00a0 Drum band\u201d. The band performs a mixture of Folk, Blues, Pop, and Gospel music. The group has also traveled to Europe, Paris, New Orleans, Chicago, performed at the Blues Rules in Switzerland, performed at the 2017 Cognac Blues Passions and many, many more. The \u201cRising Stars Fife &amp; Drum\u201d released the Interlude in 2017. The \u201cRising Star Fife &amp; Drum\u201d music is featured in \u201cSuper-Size Me\u201d, and \u201cGangs of New York\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nxBbYROWVPY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Como Mamas<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><em>(11:30 am)<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Born in Como, Mississippi, sisters Della and Angela and cousin Ester Mae express their passion through\u00a0what\u2019s most familiar to them. Music has filled their lives for more than 50 years, through the church and the uplifting sound of their grandfather\u2019s guitar that pulled them through times of turmoil. \u201cBack then you had to go to church, it wasn\u2019t a choice you made,\u201d says Ester Mae. \u201cWe would go and sing in the choir but they didn\u2019t have a pianist. That\u2019s why it comes easy for me to sing without background music. I grew up without it.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nxBbYROWVPY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Don Bryant<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<em>(1 pm)<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nxBbYROWVPY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Don Bryant has been singing since he was 5, starting in his Memphis church. He joined his father\u2019s family vocal\u00a0group, then formed a gospel quartet for a high school radio gig. Broadcasting broadened the audience and they went secular, singing pop at WLOK on Dick \u201cCane\u201d Cole\u2019s popular show. After parting with the DJ, they took a very real step toward careers when, as the Four Kings, they began fronting Willie Mitchell\u2019s band.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Don could also write songs. He was still in his teens when, in 1960, Willie was producing the 5 Royales and Don handed him \u201cI Got To Know.\u201d The 5 Royales put it on wax. Don was hot in the spotlight and in the writer\u2019s room.<\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Around 1970, Willie put Don with the Hi label\u2019s newest act, Ann Peebles, who burst on the scene with \u201cPart Time\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Love.\u201d They eventually co-wrote the hit \u201cI Can\u2019t Stand the Rain\u201d in 1973 and were married the following year.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Ann\u2019s performing career continued, as did Don\u2019s writing, and they began raising a family. Occasionally, Don\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">returned to the microphone, dueting with his wife, sometimes releasing gospel material. Always, he continued to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">write songs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.snzippers.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\">Squirrel Nut Zipper<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><em>(2:30 pm)<\/em><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.snzippers.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The group has spent recent years working on its sound on the road and working its way towards this Inevitable conclusion of songs. A kind of uncontrolled experiment in music on the road allowed the band to feed off audiences energy and surrender to the dancing muse, rather than trying to subscribe to a preconceived notion. An audience\u2026a band onstage\u2026both complicit in the desire to defy the world as we know, if only for a brief spell. \u201cLet the music<br \/>\nlead,\u201d was always Jimbo\u2019s motto, and continues to be.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Beasts Of Burgundy is twelve original new songs from the mind of Jimbo Mathus and the Squirrel Nut Zippers.\u00a0Inspired by the city of New Orleans, the poet Ron Cuccia, and a disregard for convention, the bands latest studio release will be released on March 23rd, on Southern Broadcasting.<\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tankandthebangas.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tank and the Bangas<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><em>(4 pm)<\/em><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Tank and The Bangas came together in New Orleans and it is evident in their soulful songs. With a poetic style and an upbeat sound they even ponder rollercoasters. You\u2019ll find the Bangas to provoke a musical reference of Rhythmic\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Soul and Spoken word among other genres such as Rock, Gospel, Funk, and Folk. Combining the various musical techniques among the Bangas, coupled with the instilling play on lyrics from the lead vocalist; Tank and The Bangas have quilted a unique sound that singles them as one of the most distinctive groups to come out of New Orleans.<\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.whiteymorgan.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Whitey Morgan and the 78&#8217;s<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><em>(5:30 pm)<\/em><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Whitey Morgan, whose real name is Eric Allen, hails from Flint, Michigan where locals believe he keeps true\u00a0country music alive. Most of his fans and spectators gather in bars and venues from word of mouth rather than any advertising. Whitey\u2019s deep voice and twangy guitars remind one of an old country western film. He describes his sound as \u201chonky-tonk\u201d and despises Nashville for its newfound popularity of pop country. &#8220;This may be country\u00a0music, but it&#8217;s dirtier and more dangerous than your average Tennessee two-step&#8221; -Rolling Stone<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Y8wifV5RYr8&amp;list=PLWYRQ46teM9QSGfdwurg9XXhPQb7ckGLs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Houndmouth<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<em>(7 pm)<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In the small town of New Albany, Indiana Matt Myers (guitar, vocals), Shane Cody (drums, vocals) and Zak Appleby (bass, vocals) became Houndmouth in the summer of 2011.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In 2012, the group issued a self-titled EP on Rough Trade Records, who signed them after seeing a single gig. One\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">of 2013\u2019s most incandescent debuts, their From the Hills Below the City LP affirmed what label owner Geoff Travis\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">had heard: the sounds of Americana, renewed by the youthful glow of songwriters, musicians and pals unafraid to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">both celebrate and desecrate them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Recorded by Dave Cobb in Nashville, Little Neon Limelight (2016) pairs the energy and nerves of raw first takes\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">with the accents and moods of a more contemplative, thoughtful unit. Hearts are broken and friends are exiled, love\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">grows cold and drugs do damage, leaders make mistakes and money turns tricks. Haunted by samples of the buoyant\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">opener and single \u201cSedona\u201d and the noisy filigree of a Moog, the beautifully downcast \u201cFor No One\u201d stalks through\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">personal blues with conviction. Its world-weariness has been incubated by the world it surveys.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16pt;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coldwarkids.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cold War Kids<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><em>(8:30 pm)<\/em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Released just last April, their sixth album LA Divine, Cold War Kids pay tribute to Los Angeles. Its title is slightly tongue-in-cheek. &#8220;In many ways LA is the least divine city, the most hedonistic and irreverent and disconnected from history,&#8221; says Cold War Kids singer\/guitarist\/pianist Nathan Willett.
