Led by guitarist and singer, <strong>Dominic Minix<\/strong>, the quartet combines polarizing genres from modern jazz and hip hop to punk and metal in a brooding yet intimate sound.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The next generation of jazz is punk rock with hip hop. From post-<strong>Katrina<\/strong> New Orleans emerges a wave of versatile and open minded musicians with an original voice that integrates the old with the new in a sound that characterizes the adventurous vitality of youth. The Dominic Minix Quartet&#8217;s powerful music is also featured in a number of short films and documentaries most recently <strong>Jonathan Jackson<\/strong>&#8216;s <em>Green Light<\/em>\u00a0which was featured in the <strong>2015 New Orleans Film Festival<\/strong> and won third place in 2016 PBS Online Film Festival. Dominic Minix&#8217;s music will also be featured in the 2017 New Orleans Film festival for score to the film <em>Straight Line<\/em>. A recent graduate of <strong>Loyola University of New Orleans<\/strong>, Dominic has performed with <strong>Jesse McBride<\/strong>, <strong>Delfeayo Marsalis<\/strong>, <strong>Donald Harrison<\/strong>, <strong>Shannon Powell<\/strong>, and toured internationally with the Grammy nominated stretch music pioneer Christian Scott.
