Dr. Lelon Olester Davidson<\/strong>, Ph.D, husband of Mrs. Mary Bryson Davidson<\/strong>, and son of Mrs. Hattie L. Davidson<\/strong> and the late Mr. Lenon Davidson<\/strong>, was born September 6, 1940 in Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong>.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Davidson was a 1959 graduate of Oxford Training School and received a B.S. in\u00a0Language Arts from Jackson State College (Now Jackson State University) in 1963, \u00a0M.S. in Library and Informational Science from Atlanta University in 1967 and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi in 1991.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Davidson was\u00a0Librarian at Central High School and Assistant Principal of Oxford High School before moving on to become principal and later school superintendent in the Marshall County School district from which he retired. He then re-entered the work force and became a tenured professor with University of\u00a0North Alabama from whence he took his second retirement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Davidson was a member of Beverly United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee, Lay Leader, and was very active on the local, district and state levels of the United Methodist Conference. He served on Youth Programs, Summer Programs, PREP, and was Vice President of Culture and Diversity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Davidson\u00a0graduated one more time on November 6, 2017 when he graduated from the University of Mortal\u00a0and entered the University of Immortal,\u00a0where he received the highest degree obtainable. The degree of Everlasting Life.\u00a0\u00a0He is now enjoying\u00a0Full Retirement\u00a0and is resting from his labor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Davidson is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Davidson of Oxford MS; his daughters and sons-in-law, Camille Michel Davidson (Trevor Fuller) of Charlotte NC\u00a0and Karen Voncille Smith (Julian Smith) of Oxford MS;\u00a0his grandchildren, Jackson and Schuyler Fuller of Charlotte NC; his mother: Mrs. Hattie L, Davidson, Oxford MS; two brothers: Roy Lee Davidson of Jackson MS and Isaiah Davidson of Covington TN; two sisters: Eunice Carter of Oxford MS and Edith R. Davidson Keys (Kenneth Keys) of Bolton MS; He was preceded in death by his father Lenon Davidson; brother, Don Davidson and sister, Odessa Davidson Cohran.\u00a0\"The<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
