{"id":42680,"date":"2017-11-06T09:19:47","date_gmt":"2017-11-06T15:19:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=42680"},"modified":"2017-11-06T09:20:11","modified_gmt":"2017-11-06T15:20:11","slug":"deluxe-edition-of-wilcos-a-m-to-feature-song-recorded-by-blue-mountain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/deluxe-edition-of-wilcos-a-m-to-feature-song-recorded-by-blue-mountain\/","title":{"rendered":"Deluxe Edition of Wilco&#8217;S A.M. to Feature Song Originally Recorded by Blue Mountain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Rhino Records will issue deluxe editions of\u00a0<a class=\"band-link sc-band-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jambase.com\/band\/wilco\">Wilco<\/a>\u2019s first two albums, 1995\u2019s\u00a0<em>A.M.<\/em>\u00a0and 1996\u2019s\u00a0<em>Being There<\/em>, on December 1.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pastemagazine.com\/articles\/2017\/11\/wilco-previously-unreleased-myrna-lee.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paste<\/a>\u00a0has shared a previously unreleased outtake from the\u00a0<em>A.M.<\/em>\u00a0sessions that included as a bonus track on the upcoming expanded release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">One of eight bonus tracks added to the\u00a0<em>A.M.<\/em>\u00a0deluxe edition, the previously unheard \u201cMyrna Lee\u201d which was written by co-founding bassist\u00a0<strong>John Stirratt<\/strong>. The recording never made it to an official Wilco release, but Stirratt\u2019s twin sister Laurie Stirratt recorded the song with her band Blue Mountain for their 1997\u00a0<em>Homegrown<\/em>\u00a0album.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18.6667px;\">Laurie Stirrat, aside from her success with Blue Mountain, is a locally renowned musician and co-owner of Rip It Up in <strong>Water Valley<\/strong>, <strong>Mississippi<\/strong>. In further music trivia, previous to Blue Mountain and Wilco, the Stirrat twins played together in Oxford band <strong>The Hills\u00a0<\/strong>along with Cary Hudson.
