{"id":41926,"date":"2017-09-26T15:08:47","date_gmt":"2017-09-26T21:08:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=41926"},"modified":"2017-09-26T15:14:07","modified_gmt":"2017-09-26T21:14:07","slug":"oxford-man-burgles-kidnaps-and-robs-elderly-homeowner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/oxford-man-burgles-kidnaps-and-robs-elderly-homeowner\/","title":{"rendered":"Oxford Man Burgles, Kidnaps, and Robs Elderly Homeowner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">On\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_2038442216\"><span class=\"aQJ\">September 26, 2017<\/span><\/span>, at approximately\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_2038442217\"><span class=\"aQJ\">2 am<\/span><\/span>\u00a0officers arrested <strong>Ale Burt<\/strong>, 60 of <strong>Oxford<\/strong>, for Burglary, Kidnapping, Robbery, Motor Vehicle Theft, Felony Fleeing and Possession of Burglary tools. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Burt broke into a home on <strong>Elm Street<\/strong>, kidnapped the elderly homeowner, forced the victim into the victim&#8217;s own car where Burt drove them to a location making the victim cash checks and then forcing the victim to give him the money. Officers were notified by a business while the victim was inside and the victim told the clerk that they were being held against their will. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Officers responded to <strong>Jackson Avenue<\/strong> and saw the vehicle. They attempted to stop the car but the driver fled. A short pursuit began and eventually the driver bailed out on foot. Officers were able to apprehend Burt without incident. After the arrest a search was conducted where officers found burglary tools and the victim\u2019s money in the car.
