Your music Style\/Genre: <\/strong>Shoegaze\/Slowcore<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your preferred approach to making sounds? <\/strong>I like to be loud and groovy at the same time. Distortion is good. Fuzz is good. Clean is bad.<\/span><\/p>\n

Early music experience: <\/strong>My family lived in a trailer in Northern Idaho when I was little. I listened to John Prine and Tom Petty a lot when I was really young, because of my dad. I would never do that now. My tastes have changed, but I found my voice early on singing songs my dad liked.<\/span><\/p>\n

How has the music you create changed since the first song you wrote? T<\/strong>he first songs I wrote were really simple and basic, AKA boring. Now, I try to push myself to think about things from multiple angles. I also try not to shy away from making things weird when they need to be, as long as it feels natural and true. Weird is always better than boring, and putting yourself into your art is always better than leaving yourself out.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why did you start playing? <\/strong>I was angry and sad and I wanted to make someone understand what I was going through. I think that\u2019s why most people start playing, though I could be wrong.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are some of your favorite bands? <\/strong>Godspeed You Black Emperor, The Mountain Goats, Danny Brown, Gorguts<\/span><\/p>\n

Most memorable person you\u2019ve jammed with: <\/strong>A guy named Max Ball from back home. He has crazy dreadlocks and his cousin was in Papa Roach.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you have a \u201cday job\u201d? If so, where? <\/strong>I\u2019m a person at High Point.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aspirations? <\/strong>I want to get an MFA in poetry somewhere, someday.<\/span><\/p>\n
