{"id":39803,"date":"2017-05-24T13:00:46","date_gmt":"2017-05-24T19:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=39803"},"modified":"2017-05-24T13:05:02","modified_gmt":"2017-05-24T19:05:02","slug":"sinfully-southern-bakery-and-fat-eddies-permanently-close","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/sinfully-southern-bakery-and-fat-eddies-permanently-close\/","title":{"rendered":"Sinfully Southern Bakery and Fat Eddie&#8217;s Permanently Close"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In addition to the closing of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/rib-cage-owner-buck-walden-announces-plans-to-sell-oxford-mainstay\/\"><strong>Rib Cage<\/strong><\/a> and <strong>Second Line<\/strong>, Oxford has recently lost two more restaurants. <strong>Sinfully Southern Bakery<\/strong> located on <strong>Old Taylor Road<\/strong> and <strong>Fat Eddie&#8217;s<\/strong> on North Lamar Boulevard have officially ceased operations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Sinfully Southern Bakery, owned by <strong>Chef Dwayne Ingraham<\/strong>, announced through its Facebook page on May 14 that the business would be permanently closed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FSinfullySouthernBakery%2Fposts%2F1856505327936253%3A0&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"501\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Responses came pouring in beneath the post. Those who frequented the bakery could not believe it was gone and many expressed their disappointment that they had never tried the food.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;I&#8217;m so sorry to learn this. I&#8217;m going to miss Sinfully Southern Bakery. It&#8217;s nice to patron a place and truly feel welcome. That&#8217;s how you guys made each customer feel. Thank you!,&#8221; commented <strong>Jennifer Simmons<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">A couple commenters were even convinced someone had hacked the bakery&#8217;s page. Unfortunately, Sinfully Southern Bakery confirmed that the doors would be closing for good. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;Yes it is true Sinfully Southern has closed as of today,&#8221; commented Sinfully Southern Bakery<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Just over a week later on May 23, <strong>Fat Eddie&#8217;s<\/strong>, a part of the <strong>City Grocery Restaurant Group<\/strong>, announced it would be permanently closing its doors as well. The location was previously<strong> Lamar Lounge<\/strong>, a BBQ joint. In November Fat Eddie&#8217;s opened, after a brief renovation, as a traditional Italian &#8220;red-sauce&#8221; style restaurant. Management stated that, despite closing the brick and mortar location, Fat Eddie&#8217;s pop up events would still be a possibility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>The text and full announcement from Fat Eddie&#8217;s management can be found below:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;We were sad to announce, that after a good hard run we are having to close Fat Eddie&#8217;s permanently. We deeply appreciate your support and could not be more sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Look for Eddie&#8217;s pop ups in the future. We may not have been able to make the location work, but Eddie is alive and well.
