Artistic Style:<\/strong> I make low fired functional pottery. I throw pieces on the wheel and pinch the pieces when they are still wet to create a rhythmic mark.<\/span><\/p>\n

How long have you lived in Oxford? <\/strong>Seven years<\/span><\/p>\n

Early art experience:<\/strong> I took after-school art classes as a child and was always involved in art classes through school. I never threw on a potter\u2019s wheel until my sophomore year of college, however, and once I did I was hooked.<\/span><\/p>\n

Favorite visual artists: <\/strong>Currently, Tom Bartel and Giselle Hicks<\/span><\/p>\n

Art school? <\/strong>I graduated from Ole Miss with my BFA in ceramics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Favorite book or author: <\/strong>M Train<\/em> by Patti Smith<\/span><\/p>\n

Favorite quotation: <\/strong>\u201cFind out who you are and do it on purpose\u201d- Dolly Parton<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you work out of a studio?<\/strong> I have a small studio in my house.<\/span><\/p>\n

How many hours to you spend in your studio each day?<\/strong> I try to work at least two hours four days a week.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most productive hours? <\/strong>When I wake up<\/span><\/p>\n

Favorite project you\u2019ve completed: <\/strong>I did a short-term artist residency at Red Lodge Clay Center in Red Lodge, Montana this February. It was one of the best experiences I\u2019ve had\u2014one whole month of no responsibility but to make pottery around other awesome artists.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you have a \u201cday job\u201d? If so, where? <\/strong>I\u2019m a bartender at Saint Leo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Favorite music\/bands: <\/strong>Dolly Parton, Father John Misty, Shovels and Rope<\/span><\/p>\n

What are some of your other hobbies?<\/strong> I like to do home improvement projects around my house and I also make woven wall hangings using a lap loom in my spare time when I\u2019m relaxing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Where do you hang out in Oxford? <\/strong>My back porch with my dog Banjo, work, and City Grocery.<\/span><\/p>\n
