Oxford\u2019s Double Decker Festival<\/strong> always wows with its music lineup each year. In the past the festival has brought acts such as Lettuce<\/strong> and St. Paul & The Broken Bones<\/strong>. This year is no different and is sure to keep everyone young and old dancing all day. The stage will be located on North Lamar<\/strong> near Locals Restaurant<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Jimmy \u201cDuck\u201d Holmes (6 pm)
\n<\/strong>Jimmy \u201cDuck\u201d Holmes is the last living practitioner of the celebrated style of \u201cBentonia blues\u201d made famous by Skip James<\/strong> and Jack Owens<\/strong>. In addition, Holmes operates what is arguably the oldest juke joint left in Mississippi, the Blue Front Caf\u00e9<\/strong>, and is the organizer of one of the longest-running festivals in the state\u2014the Bentonia Blues Festival<\/strong>. Holmes\u2019 latest CD is It Is What It Is<\/em>. Holmes\u2019 manager is Oxford resident and veteran blues promoter\/photographer, Dick Waterman<\/strong>. \u2014Thacker Mountain Radio<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Thacker Mountain Radio Hour (7 pm)<\/strong>
\nJim Dees<\/strong> and house band The Yalobushwackers<\/strong> will play host for the evening, featuring the music of Jimmy \u201cDuck\u201d Holmes and Muddy Magnolias, Thacker Mountain Radio Hour will be held on the Double Decker North Lamar Stage. The guest author will be Peter Cooper<\/strong> with his new book Johnny\u2019s Cash & Charlie\u2019s Pride: Lasting Legends and Untold Adventures in Country Music<\/em>. Cooper holds the position of Director for the Country Music Hall of Fame<\/strong> and is a senior lecturer at Vanderbilt University\u2019s Blair School of Music<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
