Langhorne Slim<\/strong>\u00a0will continue touring nationwide this summer and fall in support of his highly acclaimed new album,\u00a0The Way We Move<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(Ramseur Records<\/strong>). Joining him in August is special guest opener Jessica Lea Mayfield, while River City Extension will open a series of dates in October. See reverse or complete details. The Way We Move<\/em>\u00a0debuted at #194 on the Bilboard 200 chart selling 2,822 copies in its first week\u2014a career high for the acclaimed musician. The album also debuted at #159 on the Top Current Albums chart, #36 on the Independent Current Albums chart and #5 on the Top New Artists Album chart. In addition to this commercial success, the record continues to receive widespread critical acclaim\u2014the\u00a0New York Daily News<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0heralds, \u201cMatched to his gorgeous, rootsy American music, Slim\u2019s roughness gives his sound soul,\u201d while\u00a0MTV Hive<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0calls the music, \u201c\u2026rocking and joyous\u2026\u201d Moreover, the music video<\/a> for the album\u2019s first single and title track recently premiered at\u00a0Paste Magazine<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 14-track album was produced by Kenny Siegal and Langhorne Slim & The Law at Old Soul Studios in Catskill, NY. Langhorne\u2019s band, The Law, consists of David Moore (piano, keyboards, banjos, electric guitar, vocals), Jeffrey Ratner (bass, background vocals) and Malachi DeLorenzo (drums, percussion, background vocals). Of the new album, Langhorne comments, \u201cMy goal for this record was to create something that we could stand by and be proud of for the rest of of our lives.\u00a0To make music that is real, raw and beautiful.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Langhorne Slim began his musical career in Brooklyn in 2004. His previous releases include\u00a0Electric Love Letter<\/em>\u00a0EP (2004),\u00a0When The Sun\u2019s Gone Down\u00a0<\/em>(2005),\u00a0Engine<\/em>\u00a0EP (2006),\u00a0Langhorne Slim<\/em>\u00a0(2008) and his latest,\u00a0Be Set Free<\/em>\u00a0(2009). Since March 2008, he has headlined hundreds of shows and played major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Bumbershoot, Austin City Limits Festival, Newport Folk Fest, Sunset Junction, Pickathon, Rhythm and Roots and SXSW. The band garnered heavy acclaim for their performance of \u201cRestless\u201d on the\u00a0“Late Show with David Letterman\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>and were WXPN\u2019s\u00a0“Artist To Watch.\u201d<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0This band has also toured alongside The Avett Brothers, Josh Ritter, Murder By Death and Rocky Votolato.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
