On Thursday, July 21, at 7:30 pm, veteran New Orleans<\/strong> guitarist Jimmy Robinson<\/strong> and Amsterdam<\/strong> songwriter Lily Kiara <\/strong>(both of the International Folk Collective<\/strong>) return to Water Valley<\/strong> for an intimate concert evening at Foster Music and Arts\u2019 Old School Theater<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Robinson first played Water Valley for the final show of the Fiddler\u2019s Loft<\/strong> concert series. Last year he and Lily Kiara came to Water Valley as part of the International Folk Collective for a fantastic capacity show in the Loft on Main space.\u00a0 At both of these shows, the audience was treated to a performance beyond what the humble venue could reasonably expect. These were really more like concerts that should be held at the Ford Center<\/strong> or some other grander auditorium. Well, now Water Valley has that grander venue in the Old School Theater courtesy of Foster Music & Arts.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of New Orleans\u2019 true local treasures, Jimmy Robinson is an accomplished guitarist and veteran performer who, according to Georgianne Nienaber<\/strong> of The Huffington Post<\/strong>, displays\u00a0\u201cTalent, emotion and plain old musicianship\u2026Robinson is nothing short of brilliant.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

An accomplished dancer, choreographer & singer\/songwriter, Lily Kiara is on tour of the US, sharing songs from her new album Fishing in the Field<\/em><\/strong>, which was released in the USA on July 8th on Zip Records<\/strong> and is available on all digital channels. After touring the West Coast, Kiara has joined up with Jimmy Robinson in New Orleans and will play the first show of the second leg of the Field Tour<\/strong> in Water Valley.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Old School Theater is a revitalized 250-seat school auditorium with brand new stage, sound, lights, and seating located inside the Melonvine Marketplace<\/strong> on the south side of Water Valley at 817 South Main Street. Foster Music & Arts uses it regularly to present both national and regional music acts with the stated mission of \u201ccultivating the best live music in North Mississippi.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
