OXFORD, Miss. \u2013 The Oxford Film Festival<\/strong> will show eight of Graves\u2019 films on June 4<\/span> including ’til death<\/em><\/strong>, Barry<\/strong><\/em>, The Embalming<\/strong><\/em>, Oh, Christmas Triage<\/strong><\/em>, Ole Miss Monsters,\u00a0<\/strong>Bury the Show<\/strong><\/em>, The Show Must Go On<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0and Trick or Treat<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oxford filmmaker Matthew Graves<\/strong>\u2019 films have been made known all over the country. Graves has won several awards as a filmmaker due to his successes in writing, producing and directing. Outside of his cinema work, Graves teaches at the University of Mississippi<\/strong> as an adjunct professor in the theatre department. Furthermore, Graves has also produced commercial work and documentaries. He received his Master\u2019s degree from the University of Mississippi after receiving his Bachelor\u2019s degree from Hardin-Simmons University<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Graves is pleased to be a part of Oxford Film Festival. \u201cIt\u2019s been such an honor to work with the Oxford Film Festival and to be a part of the Oxford<\/strong> film community for the past decade. The incredibly talented people that I\u2019ve been blessed to work with here have made me better in so many ways. The opportunities for anyone to get involved in filmmaking in Oxford have never been higher. From the Southern Documentary Project, where I\u2019ve called home, to other groups creating and teaching film like OxFilm, The University of Mississippi Cinema Minor, the\u00a0 Southern Foodways Alliance, and the Oxford Film Festival, It\u2019s exciting to see the passion for visual storytelling continue to grow here. I\u2019m proud of the work I\u2019ve been able to make but I\u2019m more proud that I\u2019ve been able to play a small part in the growth of this creative community in Oxford.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Oxford Film Festival was founded in 2003 to bring exciting, new and unusual films (and the people who create them) to North Mississippi<\/strong>. The annual four-day festival screens short and feature-length films in both showcase and competition settings, including narrative and documentary features and shorts; Mississippi narratives, documentaries and music videos, and narrative, documentary, animated and experimental shorts. The festival is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization.\u00a0\"The<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
