The running events begin from the parking lot of <strong>Big Bad Breakfast<\/strong> at 7:30 am. Adult registration fees are $25 in advance or $35 on race day and includes breakfast, beer, and a T-shirt. Kids (12 and under) registration in $5 and includes breakfast, a race-themed water bottle, and entry to the bouncy house set up at the starting line. Runners can register prior to April 9 online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.racesonline.com\/events\/breakfast-of-champions-5k-fun-run\">http:\/\/www.racesonline.com\/events\/breakfast-of-champions-5k-fun-run<\/a> or on race day at the parking lot of Big Bad Breakfast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Move On Up Mississippi<\/strong> is a non-profit foundation aimed at inspiring and funding educational initiatives for Mississippi youth, specifically in the areas of health, well-being, nutrition and physical activity. &#8220;The foundation works with local, municipal and state agencies to help implement programming to help children grow to a healthier future in Mississippi,\u201d says Currence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Hosted by <strong>City Grocery Restaurant Group<\/strong> Executive Chef <strong>John Currence<\/strong>, <em>Light In April<\/em> will feature a slew of nationally-known chefs being paired up with local chefs to prepare culinary delights at various residences around town.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Chefs participating in <em>Light In April<\/em> include:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Andy Ticer<\/strong>, one half of <strong>Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen<\/strong> in <strong>Memphis<\/strong> will join forces with \u00a0<strong>George Mendes<\/strong> of <strong>Aldea<\/strong> in <strong>New York City<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Michael Hudman<\/strong>, the other half of Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen in Memphis is teaming up with <strong>Floyd Cardoz<\/strong> of <strong>The Bombay Canteen<\/strong> and <strong>Paowalla<\/strong> in New York City.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Kelly English<\/strong> of <strong>Restaurant Iris<\/strong> in <strong>Memphis<\/strong>, <strong>Magnolia House<\/strong> in <strong>Biloxi<\/strong>, and <strong>The Second Line<\/strong> here in Oxford and in Memphis will be paired up with<strong> Georgia&#8217;s<\/strong> <strong>Hugh Acheson<\/strong> of <strong>Five &amp; Ten<\/strong> and <strong>The National<\/strong> in <strong>Athens<\/strong>; <strong>Empire South<\/strong> in <strong>Atlanta<\/strong>; and <strong>The Florence<\/strong> in <strong>Savannah<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Vishwesh Bhatt<\/strong> from Oxford&#8217;s <strong>Snackbar<\/strong> will combine his culinary expertise with <strong>Tandy Wilson <\/strong>of <strong>City House<\/strong> in <strong>Nashville, Tennessee<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Michael Northern<\/strong> of Oxford&#8217;s City Grocery will be paired with <strong>Alon Shaya<\/strong>, of <strong>Shaya<\/strong> in <strong>New Orleans<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Ralph Taylor<\/strong>, the Chef De Cuisine at City Grocery here in Oxford will be coupled with <strong>John Fleer <\/strong>of <strong>Asheville, North Carolina&#8217;s Rhubarb<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Dru Jones<\/strong> of Oxford&#8217;s <strong>Bour\u00e9 <\/strong>will share a kitchen with <strong>Isaac Toups, <\/strong>purveyor of New Orleans&#8217;<strong> Toups Eatery<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">John Currence, Executive Chef and owner of City Grocery Restaurant Group (City Grocery, Snackbar, <strong>Big Bad Breakfast<\/strong>, Bour\u00e9, <strong>Lamar Lounge<\/strong>, and <strong>Main Event<\/strong>) will be paired up with <strong>Sean Brock<\/strong> of<strong> Husk<\/strong>, <strong>McCrady&#8217;s<\/strong>, and <strong>Minero<\/strong>; all of which are located in <strong>Charleston, South Carolina<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The evening will be capped off with a post-dinner After Party which will be held at <strong>The Lyric<\/strong> on the Square in Oxford. Entertainment for the evening will be provided by Oxford&#8217;s <strong>Young Buffalo <\/strong>from 8:30 until 10:00 and the headlined by Birmingham&#8217;s <strong>St. Paul and The Broken Bones<\/strong> until midnight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">General admission tickets to the after party are $35 each and VIP passes, which include an open bar and light desserts on the upstairs balcony, are $85 each. Anyone wanting VIP passes who is not attending a dinner is encouraged to buy their tickets early, as there are only 80 VIP passes available.
