Now in its eighth year the event continues to grow, adding fresh twists on the culinary trends of Mississippi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The two\u00ad-day event will begin Friday, April 1 at the Powerhouse with a Brewer\u2019s Dinner featuring local chef\u00a0<strong>Meredith Pittman<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0<strong>Second Line<\/strong>. Pittman will prepare dishes for guests and brewer\u2019s inspired by her favorite Mississippi and Southern flavors.. Ticket-holders can select a seat with the men and women behind the brewing of some of Mississippi\u2019s most loved beers, such as\u00a0<strong>Lazy Magnolia<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Southern Prohibition<\/strong>, among others. Each Brewer will bring a limited edition beer just for the guests who attend the Brewers Dinner. Seating is limited to 100, with attendees selecting which brewery they would like to sit with for the evening. Pittman will prepare dinner for guests and brewers inspired by Mississippi flavor and foods from across the State. Musician\u00a0<strong>Jimmy Phillips<\/strong>\u00a0will provide entertainment for the Brewer\u2019s Dinner. Tickets for Friday, April 1 are limited.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Saturday, April 2 from noon to 6 pm is the Miss-\u00adI-\u00adSippin\u2019 festival at the Old Armory Pavilion on University Avenue. The festival will again feature all the beers with the Mississippi Brewer\u2019s Guild, as well as craft beers from the surrounding states along with local food, art, and music. This year features a change in the culinary element for Saturday allowed the YAC to offer a lower admission fee to the festival. \u201cOxford creating new food truck policies inspired us to offer this community event as a chance to host these small culinary businesses,\u201d shared\u00a0<strong>Wayne Andrews<\/strong>, Director of the Arts Council. \u201cThis year Miss\u00ad-I-\u00adSippin&#8217; attendees will have the chance to dine at the Food Truck Court purchasing from a variety of vendors in food trucks and pop up restaurants. Oxford is a foodie town and an event that is about craft beverages should also feature craft foods\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cAll proceeds from Miss\u00ad-I-\u00adSippin\u2019 will benefit the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council and the Mississippi Brewer\u2019s Guild,\u201d says\u00a0<strong>Anna Leigh Phillips<\/strong>,\u00a0a coordinator for the event . \u201cMiss-\u00adI\u00ad-Sippin\u2019 is a non\u00adprofit event designed to invite the community to explore how Mississippians use traditions to inspire our innovations.
