Foxfire Ranch<\/strong> will host their first annual one-day Foxfire Ranch Blues Festival<\/strong> on March 26 from noon to midnight featuring live music, vendors, and overnight camping.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve hosted Hill Country Picnic<\/strong> and Hill Country Harmonica<\/strong> festival for three years,\u201d said Owner Bill Hollowell<\/strong>. \u201cWe decided to put together a festival of our own.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The process of organizing this event has been less of a headache for Hollowell than most would expect.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s actually gone really smooth,\u201d said Howell. \u201cMost of the talent have played here before or are from the area, so most of the work has just been calling friends.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Musicians playing the festival include Oxford frequent Bill \u201cHowl-N-Madd\u201d Perry <\/strong>and Leo \u201cBud\u201d Welch<\/strong>. Bud will also be playing at Double Decker Festival in April.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBill [Perry] has been instrumental in keeping the blues alive here,\u201d said Hollowell. \u201cWe can call him up on a Sunday night and he\u2019s ready to play.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Other regional acts include Christone \u201cKingfish\u201d Ingram<\/strong> as well as Lightnin\u2019 Malcolm<\/strong>. The full lineup can be found online with more to be added yet.<\/span><\/p>\n

The festival will feature an acoustic stage and a larger stage that will start later in the day.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe acoustic stage will kick off the day at noon, it will be under the pavilion,\u201d said Hollowell. \u201cThen we\u2019ll have the bigger Budweiser-sponsored stage at the back of the open air area start around 2 pm and go until midnight.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Foxfire Ranch was established in 2008 and has since brought the area a steady string of blues events, focusing on maintaining their weekly Sunday blues events.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a lot of experience with blues events,\u201d said Hollowell. \u201cPutting the event together has really been a pleasure.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Since its inception, Foxfire Ranch has been recognized nationally as the best small-town outdoor music venue and place to visit by many publications.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 the day of the festival. Students will receive a $5 discount on admission costs and tickets for children 13 or under are only $5. Camping, RV, and parking passes are available as well.
