The event, going into its seventh year, has been organized by <strong>Joe Don<\/strong> since its inception in 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cYou got out on St. Paddy\u2019s Day and there might be one or two guys drinking,\u201d said Don. \u201cI just felt like Oxford should have something fun like this.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">As with every year, the crawl will be making a handful of stops across the Square. Starting at 3 pm \u00a0on Saturday at <strong>Frank &amp; Marlee\u2019s<\/strong>, the group will then move through <strong>Proud Larry\u2019s<\/strong>, <strong>Library Sports Bar<\/strong>, <strong>Funkys<\/strong>, <strong>Rooster\u2019s Blues House<\/strong>, <strong>The Blind Pig<\/strong>, and wrap up at <strong>Locals<\/strong> to enjoy $5 Car Bombs as well as $3 Fireball shots and draft beer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cWe stay at one place for about an hour, hour and half, then move to the next location,\u201d said Don. \u201cWe move together. A few people will filter out, but the goal is to make it to the end.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The first year Don organized the crawl, he had about \u201ctwenty people. I just called some buddies to come out.\u201d The next year he estimated the turn out to be closer to 250.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cIt\u2019s usually 200 people minimum [now],\u201d said Don. \u201cOne year we had as high as 350 come out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">To start off the afternoon, Frank &amp; Marlee\u2019s will be offering $2.50 domestic beers and a St. Paddy\u2019s Day shot special.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cEach bar has said they\u2019ll be offering specials for the holiday,\u201d said Don.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The pub crawl will feature free buttons and beads for participants and a prize for best St. Paddy\u2019s Day Pub Crawl costume.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cIt\u2019s just a fun thing,\u201d said Don. \u201cWe usually give out a gift card from one of the restaurants [where we stop].\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Regardless of the contest, costumes have long been a large aspect of the pub crawl, with crawlers pulling out their kilts and every green article of clothing and accessory they own. Come March 19, expect to see all the bearded men in kilts Oxford has to offer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cMy favorite part is hearing all the comments once we wrap up,\u201d Don said. \u201cA few years ago someone came up to me saying they had lived in Oxford for ten years and that [the St. Paddy\u2019s Pub Crawl] was the most fun they\u2019d had on the Square since they\u2019ve been here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Pub Crawl participants are encouraged to arrange a designated driver or call one of Oxford\u2019s many reliable taxi services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cIt\u2019s free, you just have to buy your own drinks. Anybody can show up,\u201d said Don. \u201cIt\u2019s open to the public.
