{"id":31452,"date":"2016-02-13T12:30:48","date_gmt":"2016-02-13T18:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=31452"},"modified":"2016-02-13T12:31:17","modified_gmt":"2016-02-13T18:31:17","slug":"hollis-sweet-tooth-to-close-location-on-oxford-mississippi-square","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/hollis-sweet-tooth-to-close-location-on-oxford-mississippi-square\/","title":{"rendered":"Holli&#8217;s Sweet Tooth to Close Location on Oxford, Mississippi Square"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Holli Ratcliffe<\/strong>, owner of <strong>Holli&#8217;s Sweet Tooth<\/strong> in Oxford, Mississippi, announced Saturday, February 13th that she is closing her location on the Square.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In a lengthy Facebook post, Ratcliffe said, &#8220;The cost of doing business in general (including rent) has increased over the years to a point that makes business tough.&#8221;<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"size-full wp-image-31456 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/HollisSweetTooth-Candy.jpg?resize=640%2C480\" alt=\"HollisSweetTooth-Candy\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/HollisSweetTooth-Candy.jpg?w=720&amp;ssl=1 720w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/HollisSweetTooth-Candy.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;There are many rumors about my landlord being the cause, let me say&#8230; my rent is not unreasonably high compared to downtown prices,&#8221; Holli continued. &#8220;We were<span class=\"text_exposed_show\"> at the end of a 3 year lease and had to make the hard decision whether or not to renew&#8230; unfortunately it just doesn&#8217;t work at that location or in it&#8217;s current business model anymore.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text_exposed_show\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Ratcliffe said that her heart is broken and finding another location is &#8220;complicated&#8221; and wouldn&#8217;t be easy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text_exposed_show\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Holli&#8217;s Sweet Tooth has been a local staple on the Oxford Square for the last nine years, and it has been a popular\u00a0go-to destination for parents and children alike.
