A series of special filmmaker panels including a talk with film and television star Joey Lawrence will be offered for Mississippi filmgoers to attend, 21 short films will screen for the first time anywhere, and 21 alumni filmmakers will see their latest work screen at Oxford with as many as 80 filmmakers planning to attend the popular film festival.<\/p>\n<p>Narrative feature films in competition this year include; Claire Carr\u00e9\u2019s <em>Embers<\/em>; A.D. Calvo\u2019s <em>The Missing Girl<\/em>; Kostadin Bonev\u2019s <em>The Sinking of Sozopol<\/em>; John W. Mann and Jon Gunn\u2019s <em>The Week<\/em>; and Rupert Glasson\u2019s <em>What Lola Wants<\/em>. Documentary features in competition are: Gerald Peary\u2019s <em>Archie&#8217;s Betty<\/em>; Nick Brandestini\u2019s <em>Children of the Arctic<\/em>; Ryan Kelley\u2019s <em>Dixie<\/em>; Neal Broffman\u2019s <em>Help Us Find Sunil Tripathi<\/em>; Amy Berg\u2019s devastating documentary <em>An Open Secret<\/em> about the sexual abuse of minors in Hollywood; Les Blank\u2019s <em>A Poem is a Naked Person<\/em>, his long-awaited profile of musician Leon Russell; Abigail Disney\u2019s <em>The Armor of Light<\/em>, which takes a look at an evangelical preacher\u2019s efforts to discuss gun control; the world premiere of local filmmaker Rex Jones\u2019 <em>Longleaf: The Heart of Pine<\/em>, which traces the history and current status of the South\u2019s primeval forest; and Joanne Grant\u2019s <em>Fundi: The Story of Ella Baker<\/em>, which looks at the life of the civil rights figure.<\/p>\n<p>On the narrative front, standouts include Tony Bloodworth\u2019s thriller <em>Forced Move<\/em> and Mark Potts\u2019 superhero comedy <em>Spaghetti Man<\/em>, which will both make their world premieres;
