Oxford, Miss. \u2013 Ole Miss <\/strong>wide receiver Laquon Treadwell<\/strong> released a statement<\/a> declaring he will forgo his senior year and enter the 2016 NFL<\/strong> draft.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAfter sitting down with my family, we have decided it is time for me to take the next step in my career and enter the 2016 NFL draft,\u201d stated Treadwell.<\/span><\/p>\n

During his career at Ole Miss Treadwell set several records including: most catches per game in a career (5.77), most catches in a career (202), and most catches in a season (82-2015).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always been a dream of mine to play in the NFL, and I can\u2019t thank my teammates, coaches and our great fans enough for their unbelievable support since the first day I stepped foot on campus,\u201d stated Treadwell.<\/span><\/p>\n

Head Coach Hugh Freeze<\/strong> released his own statement in support of Treadwell\u2019s decision.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was an honor to have coached Laquon, and our family will miss him greatly,\u201d stated Freeze. \u201cI\u2019m so proud of what he accomplished here, and I look forward to seeing him continue to grow and shine as a player and a person.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite ending his career early, Treadwell had only positive thoughts of his time at Ole Miss.<\/span><\/p>\n
