Oxford, MS — Ole Miss<\/strong> has released a statement on behalf of Robert Nkemdiche<\/strong> in regards to his falling from a fourth floor hotel window in Atlanta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The accident left him hospitalized but stable with minor cuts requiring stitches. Investigators found 7 rolled marijuana cigarettes in the room and linked Nkemdiche to the substance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI made a mistake and put myself in an environment that does not reflect who I am as a person,\u201d stated Nkemdiche. \u201cI have worked very hard to have this platform, and I want to use it in the right way and be a role model for young players.”<\/p>\n

A report from Fox Sports<\/strong><\/a> claimed the fall was the due to hallucinations from his use of synthetic marijuana.<\/p>\n

\u201cContrary to a report by FOX Sports, I did not use synthetic drugs,\u201d stated Nkemdiche. \u201cThis does not reflect the core values that my mother and father instilled in our family. I am a very spiritual person, and drugs have no place in my belief system.\u201d<\/p>\n

A decision has not been made on if Nkemdiche will be on the field for New Year\u2019s Eve<\/strong>\u2019s Sugar Bowl<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As I move forward, I have learned a valuable lesson about the ramifications of a bad decision. I have worked very hard to have this platform, and I want to use it in the right way and be a role model for young players.
