How did you get into cooking?<\/strong><\/span> My Momma taught me how to cook at an early age. And I hated my second waitressing job (Olive Garden), so I started working in the prep kitchen. Been in the back of the house ever since.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favorite flavor combo?<\/span><\/strong> Coconut milk, curry, peanuttiness, and fresh basil. Or good olive oil, fresh garlic, and lemon juice.<\/p>\n

Name three items in your fridge:<\/strong><\/span> Eggs, PBR, and Bacon (a.k.a. \u201cmeat candy\u201d).<\/p>\n

\"\"Where do you get your best recipe ideas?<\/strong><\/span> Cookbooks. I\u2019ll peruse recipes for hours sometimes. My favorites for the past ten years have been The Mediterranean Diet<\/em> Cookbook by Nancy Harmon Jenkins, and a Southern stand-by, Bell\u2019s Best<\/em>.<\/p>\n

What is the best meal you\u2019ve ever eaten?<\/strong><\/span> Maharaja\u2019s Chicken Tikka Masala\u2014it\u2019s the \u201cbest meal ever\u201d every time I order it.<\/p>\n

Personal specialties:<\/strong><\/span> Soups, cream sauces, traditional foods from around the Mediterranean, and a lot of old school Southern stuff.<\/p>\n

Favorite midnight snack:<\/strong><\/span> Ramen stir-fried with egg and vegetables…or milk and cereal.<\/p>\n

Favorite kitchen music:<\/strong><\/span> Bob Marley, Weezer, Pixies…this list could go on for a very long time.<\/p>\n

Where do you like to dine in Oxford?<\/strong><\/span> Volta, Ajax, Two Stick, Taqueria El Milagro, Blind Pig, and MAHARAJA!<\/p>\n

Favorite restaurant in the world?<\/strong><\/span> Tie between Thai Kum Koon in Norman, Oklahoma, and the now-defunct Cotton Patch formerly in Greenwood.<\/p>\n
