These gentlemen have played behind such names as <strong>Jack Oblivian<\/strong>, <strong>R.L. Burnside<\/strong>, <strong>Jim Dandy &amp; Black Oak Arkansas<\/strong>, and <strong>Monsieur Jeffrey Evans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2009 the Tanlines appeared in <strong>Craig Brewer<\/strong>\u2019s web series (and soundtrack) for MTV\u2019s <em>Five Dollar Cover<\/em>, and performed \u201cI\u2019m Your Negative\u201d in a roller derby fight scene. They also have a song\u2014\u201cBlack Knight,\u201d a crowd favorite at live shows\u2014featured in the EA Sports video game <em>Skate<\/em>. And In 2011 they won a battle of the bands organized for an episode of <strong>Samantha Brown<\/strong>\u2019s <em>Great Weekends<\/em> on The Travel Channel when the show was filmed in Memphis. <strong>David Fricke<\/strong> of <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> gave them a rave review in \u201cFricke\u2019s Picks\u201d after <em>I\u2019m Your Negative<\/em> was released, referring to Alicja as the band member on \u201cguitar and hellcat vox.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2681\" title=\"300DPI_live\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/300DPI_live.jpg?resize=300%2C216\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/300DPI_live.jpg?resize=300%2C216&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/300DPI_live.jpg?w=400&amp;ssl=1 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Together since late 2004, the band has toured extensively in North America and Europe playing clubs and festivals, and has ten releases on various record labels around the world. Their album <em>I\u2019m Your Negative<\/em> was released in 2006 by Dirtnap Records in Portland, Oregon. They will tour Europe again this October.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><em>Coast To Coast<\/em><\/strong><\/span>, the newest recording venture from River City Tanlines, was released this week.
