\"TownHallDevils1\"<\/a>Town Hall Devils<\/strong> is a modern American rock band formed in 2010 in Austin, Texas. They mix elements of rock, Americana, psych, and punk at will. Original members Micah Hayes<\/strong> (bass, vocals) and Ky Williams<\/strong> (drums) spent 2013 in their studio developing their sound through an increasingly DIY process. Tyson J. Swindell<\/strong> (guitars) joined the band in 2014 and work began to write new songs and develop older ones into a live setting.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"0617-PigShow\"<\/a>Ouroboros Blues<\/em> is their first official release with the new line up and was released in January of 2015. It is produced and recorded by Ky Williams and Micah Hayes at their studio in Austin.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Austin Chronicle<\/em> recently summed up their release:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ll believe just about anything Micah Hayes sings in his rusty Southern growl. Genuine and gritty, the Austin songwriter comes off appropriately lonesome for the Americana realm, yet tough enough to be a rock & roll poet. In either uniform, his heart remains on his sleeve.<\/span><\/p>\n

His band, Town Hall Devils, has expanded and retracted in membership since forming in 2010\u2014always including drummer Ky Williams. Last year, the group crystallized with the addition of guitarist Tyson Swindell (Games and Theory, Pack of Wolves), whose scathing guitar tone redefined THD so much that they scrapped all material and started over. That resulted in Ouroboros Blues<\/em>, a five-song EP fusing roots rock with elements of punk and psychedelia.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"TLV-Cover-117-RGB\"<\/a>If the names Pack of Wolves<\/strong> or Tyson Swindell ring a bell to you, first of all congrats for being a loyal Local Voice<\/em> reader (and possibly a townie). Swindell\u2019s Southern metal band Pack of Wolves played in Oxford at Two Stick in October of 2010 with Galaxicon. We even featured them on the cover of issue #117. Ah, the memories\u2014remember when Oxford had metal shows? We think there aren\u2019t enough of them these days!<\/span><\/p>\n

So go check out Town Hall Devils at The Blind Pig on Wednesday, June 17th.
