(SAA) \u2013 The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/saa.olemiss.edu\/\"><strong>Student Activities Association<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and the<strong> Ole Miss Student Union<\/strong> will welcome <strong>Thomas Rhett<\/strong>, along with solo act <strong>Iron and Wine<\/strong> and the duo <strong>Love and Theft<\/strong>, to the <strong>Grove<\/strong> on <strong>Sunday, April 26, 2015<\/strong> for an afternoon of country music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The 4 pm concert, which is free and open to the public, will wrap up Oxford\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/doubledeckerfestival.com\/\"><strong>Double Decker Festival weekend<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and follow the <strong>Ole Miss<\/strong> baseball game against the <strong>University of Alabama<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cThe goal of the SAA spring concert is to host a fun and exciting event on campus,\u201d said <strong>Nathan Darce<\/strong>, coordinator of student activities. \u201cSAA has a long history of hosting many well-known musical acts on campus. Students should use this concert as an opportunity to support musical acts that come to campus. He began playing at fraternity parties while a student at <strong>David Lipscomb University<\/strong>, but it wasn\u2019t until he played a one-time gig with his dad that he attracted industry attention, as a songwriter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">After <strong>Jason Aldean<\/strong> recorded Rhett\u2019s \u201cI Ain\u2019t Ready to Quit,\u201d Rhett landed a deal with <strong>Big Machine Record Group<\/strong> and cut his debut album, \u201cIt Goes Like This,\u201d which includes the chart singles \u201cGet Me Some of That,\u201d \u201cBeer with Jesus,\u201d \u201cWould Ya,\u201d \u201cSomething to Do with My Hands\u201d and the title track. His five studio albums include \u201cThe Creek Drank the Cradle\u201d\u00a0(2002),\u00a0\u201cOur Endless Numbered Days\u201d\u00a0(2004), and\u00a0\u201cThe Shepherd\u2019s Dog<em>\u201c<\/em>\u00a0(2007), all on the Sub Pop label.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Stripped down and exposed,\u00a0<strong><em>Archive Series Volume No. 1<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0epitomizes the dual nature of\u00a0<strong>Sam Beam<\/strong>\u2019s songwriting, both before and after he adopted the moniker\u00a0<strong>Iron &amp; Wine<\/strong>. Furnished with only his guitar and his voice, the collection of 16 tracks spotlights his affinity for wistful lyrics and tender chords.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"> In the song,\u00a0<strong>\u201cEveryone\u2019s Summer of \u201995,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Sam sings of old friends with an air of nostalgia that\u2019s lightly buried beneath beautiful guitar picking. Now,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>the song has a new video\u00a0that adds yet another layer to one of Sam\u2019s home recordings. Paying homage to the world created within Sam\u2019s lyrics, directors<strong>\u00a0Erin Elders<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Jeff Tomcho\u00a0<\/strong>elected to tell their own story about a man, played by\u00a0<strong>David Dastmalchian\u00a0<\/strong>(<em>Dark Knight, Ant-Man,\u00a0<\/em>&amp;\u00a0<em>Animals<\/em>), attending a wrestling match. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">As told to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/pitchperfectpr.us9.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=5dc73c0a9c53622c2489e91d5&amp;id=abc5b4e2b8&amp;e=d64c3920ab\"><strong><em>Indiewire<\/em><\/strong><\/a><strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>\u201cWe wanted to create a unique environment that was as genuine as his song but also with a bit of mystery. The idea was to create a character who could perhaps exist in an Iron &amp; Wine song and follow them around for a night, seeing what unfolds.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n<h2>Love and Theft<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The acclaimed duo Love and Theft includes <strong>Stephen Barker Liles<\/strong> and <strong>Eric Gunderson<\/strong>, both of whom sing\u00a0lead vocals\u00a0and play\u00a0guitar.
