Haynes called up drummer <strong>Matt Abts<\/strong>, and the band recorded three increasingly ambitious studio albums and performed countless shows before Woody passed in 2000. In 2001, Louis, a longtime collaborator, became a full-time member of Gov\u2019t Mule, and the group has been a four-piece ever since. Bassist <strong>Jorgen Carlsson<\/strong> has been with the group since 2008, solidifying the lineup.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Rock torchbearers Gov\u2019t Mule are celebrating their 20th anniversary with an extensive<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/GovtMule20YearsTour.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"487\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-23976\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/GovtMule20YearsTour.jpg?resize=600%2C487\" alt=\"GovtMule20YearsTour\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/GovtMule20YearsTour.jpg?w=600&amp;ssl=1 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/GovtMule20YearsTour.jpg?resize=300%2C244&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a> tour and a series of dynamic live archival releases that highlight the group\u2019s versatility and fearless live performances. No two Gov\u2019t Mule shows are alike. The band draws on the more than 300 songs in their repertoire (and often a host of special guests) to create a unique experience each and every time. Their steadily expanding fan base knows that the Mule always has something special waiting for them. Expect the unexpected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">To celebrate their 20th anniversary, they are releasing a series of new live archival releases. Beginning on November 28, 2014, they released <em>Stoned Side of the Mule: Volume 1, <\/em>which captures the Mule on Halloween 2009, ripping through seven impassioned <strong>Rolling Stone<\/strong> covers. The second archival release came on December 9, 2014. <em>Dark Side of the Mule, <\/em>features 90 minutes of <strong>Pink Floyd<\/strong> covers recorded during the band\u2019s Halloween 2008 show at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, Mass. On January 27, 2015, fans were finally able to get their hands and ears on a very special release\u2014the long-awaited <em>SCO-MULE. <\/em>In September of 1999, <strong>John Scofield<\/strong> teamed up with Gov\u2019t Mule for two legendary shows. Fans can now experience the <em>SCO-MULE<\/em> magic first-hand in album form. The three-hour all-instrumental album is a jazz romp laced with rock riffs. Lastly, <em>Dub Side of the Mule <\/em>is being released on April 7th, and shines a light on the band\u2019s New Year\u2019s Eve 2006 Beacon Theatre show, including a 45-minute set of reggae songs with special guest, reggae legend <strong>Toots Hibbert<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Tickets are on sale now at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">www.ardenland.net<\/span>, and they cost $25.50 to $45.50 each.
