The Sarah Isom Center for Women and Gender Studies<\/strong> at the University of Mississippi<\/strong> and Oxford\u2019s Powerhouse Community Arts Center<\/strong> with support from the Department of Theater Arts and Cinema<\/strong> are proud to present a screening of actor-writer-director and former Oxonian Joey Lauren Adams<\/strong>\u2019s film Come Early Morning<\/em><\/strong> (2006). Adams will introduce the film and participate in a Q&A session with the audience. This program is part of the Sarah Isom Centers series Women in the Film Industry<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The screening is free and open to the public. Tickets for the post-show reception with Adams are ten dollars. Ticket price includes food by the Main Event<\/strong> and a beverage. Tickets for the reception will be available at the door.<\/span><\/p>\n

About Adams:<\/span><\/p>\n

Joey Lauren Adams has appeared in over 30 films such as Dazed and Confused<\/strong>, Big\"Joey<\/a> Daddy<\/strong><\/em>, and The Break Up<\/em><\/strong>. Her lead performance in the Film Chasing Amy<\/em><\/strong> was celebrated with A Golden Globe nomination and a Chicago Film Critics Award for Most Promising Actress.<\/span><\/p>\n

Come Early Morning<\/em>, starring Ashley Judd<\/strong>, was selected to play in competition at the Sundance Film Festival<\/strong> where Adams was awarded the Dorothy Arzner Women In Film Directors Award<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most recently, she formed Argenta Productions<\/strong> with partner Kerri Elder<\/strong>. Their first film, All the Birds Have Flown South<\/strong>,<\/em> was completed in February.\u00a0\"The<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
