Filtered through the waters of Alabama\u2019s Black Warrior River, CBDB<\/strong>\u2019s Joyfunk emerges from the muddy depths bringing to light a crisp, revolving blend of progressive rock, funk, and fusion. phone.keys.wallet.<\/em><\/strong>, CBDB\u2019s debut album, was released in November 2012 and saw rapid success with hook heavy songs like \u201cSlow Foxes\u201d reaching 22K+ plays on Spotify. CBDB is currently preparing to release their second album, Joyfunk is Dead<\/em><\/strong>, the week of the Proud Larry\u2019s<\/strong> show.<\/span><\/p>\n

The facetiously titled sophomore effort takes Joyfunk down a more progressive route \"CBDB_JoyfunkIsDeadAlbum\"<\/a>while still keeping its hook and groove oriented roots. CBDB has built a strong social media presence with 4K+ Facebook likes and 6K+ Twitter follows through steady touring of the Southeast playing headlining shows to dedicated followings in rooms like The Jupiter, Zydeco, Bourbon Street, Smiths Olde Bar, Terminal West, The Camel, Proud Larry\u2019s and Exit\/In. They have shared the stage with acts including Umphreys McGee, Earphunk, The Wailers, B.o.B., The Revivalists, Col. Bruce Hampton (Ret.), Moon Taxi, Mike Jones, Seven Handle Circus, Octopus Nebula, The Vegabonds, Space Capone, among many others.<\/span><\/p>\n

CBDB is Cy Simonton<\/strong>, lead vocals and guitar; Kris Gottlieb<\/strong>, lead guitar; David Ray<\/strong>, bass; Glenn Dillard<\/strong>, sax and keys; Donald DeLoach<\/strong>, percussion; and Paul Oliver<\/strong>, drums.<\/span><\/p>\n
