\n\"HALLKennyLoggins\"<\/a>Kenny Loggins spent much of the 1970s as part of the duo Loggins & Messina<\/strong> with former Buffalo Springfield<\/strong> member Jim Messina<\/strong>, though in 1976 the gentlemen decided to pursue solo careers. Since then, Loggins has released thirteen albums: three were certified gold, and four went platinum. In the 80s he became known affectionately as \u201cKing of the Movie Soundtrack,\u201d garnering attention for tunes like \u201cI\u2019m Alright\u201d from Caddyshack<\/em> and \u201cDanger Zone\u201d from Top Gun<\/em>. Loggins is also responsible for the super-catchy \u201cFootloose\u201d from the film\u2014maybe you\u2019ll hear some of these gems at the Ford Center.<\/span><\/p>\n

He\u2019s supremely talented and he makes every one of his shows a lot of fun. Since beginning Squirrel Nut Zippers<\/strong> in the 90s he\u2019s played with Buddy Guy<\/strong> and Elvis Costello<\/strong>; you might remember him from South Memphis String Band<\/strong>. But it\u2019s his projects in the last decade that have captured the hearts of so many: Knockdown South<\/strong>, Tri-State Coalition<\/strong>, and Them Durty Crooks<\/strong>, to name just a few. Spend your Thursday Happy Hour with Jimbo\u2014it will make the rest of your night so much better!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"SpiritsGROUP\"<\/a>Spirits of Yoknapatawpha County <\/span><\/strong>at<\/span> The Powerhouse<\/span><\/strong>
\nThis year\u2019s production will feature characters from William Faulkner<\/strong>\u2019s fictional Yoknapatawpha County, rather than from Oxford\u2019s history. You\u2019ll see ten characters presenting stories from famous Faulkner works, and the proceeds from the production go to the Cedar Oaks Guild. Water Liars <\/span><\/strong>at<\/span> Proud Larry\u2019s<\/span><\/strong>

\n\"HALLWaterLiars\"<\/a>Water Liars are one of our favorite bands to come from the Oxford area in many, many years. With just the right mixture of punk and country (and trust me, the sound works for these guys) and a seemingly tireless touring ethic, these guys have earned their somewhat-newfound success. Catch them while they\u2019re in Oxford\u2014they\u2019ll be back on the road too soon. Frontman Justin Kinkel-Schuster<\/strong>, bassist G.R. Robinson<\/strong>, and Andrew Bryant<\/strong> (drums, vocals) will rock your striped witch socks off\u2014be prepared for a great show.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\"HALLEdwina\"<\/a>Described as \u201claid back,\u201d the rock band Edwina<\/strong> is comprised of Capel Howorth<\/strong> and Andrew Delmastro<\/strong> on guitars, Marcus Cremaldi<\/strong> on bass, and Nathan Rone<\/strong> on drums. Howorth says their sound is \u201ca four-piece band that comes together at the end.\u201d We know Howorth from current project And The Echo<\/strong> (with Morgan Pennington<\/strong> and Winn McElroy<\/strong>), and from bygone band PF Flyers<\/strong>, and we can only expect\u00a0 great things from this show. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"HALLEricDeatonTrio\"<\/a>Eric Deaton Trio <\/span><\/strong>at<\/span> Blind Pig<\/span><\/strong>
\nMusician Eric Deaton learned a lot of what he knows about music from late, great North Mississippi Bluesman Junior Kimbrough<\/strong>. After Kimbrough passed, Deaton played with Burnside Exploration<\/strong>, Afrissippi<\/strong>, and Jimbo Mathus\u2019 Knockdown South<\/strong>. But Deaton has found his own voice, front and center, as frontman of Eric Deaton Trio, with comrade Nathan Robbins<\/strong> on bass and Kinney Kimbrough<\/strong> (Junior\u2019s son) on drums. Deaton is your answer for legit Hill Country Blues in Oxford.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"HALLShaneChastain\"<\/a>Shane Chastain <\/span><\/strong>at<\/span> Frank & Marlee\u2019s<\/span><\/strong>
\nAlso known as \u201cShugga Shane\u201d around the state, Chastain is known for leading the party from behind the piano at Frank & Marlee\u2019s on many weekends (though he is also a talented guitar player). Join the party at Frank & Marlee\u2019s and dance along to crowd favorites this Halloween\u2014and who knows, Shugga Shane might just play your request!<\/span><\/p>\n

Mustache The Band <\/span><\/strong>at<\/span> The Library<\/span><\/strong>

But they must be doing something right: last year our readers voted them \u201cFavorite Local Band.\u201d Expect to go on a virtual trip back to the 90s when country was king. Just remember: \u201cMustache has two rules. Don\u2019t forget to shut the gate and stay outta the beans.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

DJ Hec4show), and Keith Sanders<\/strong>. Every show is different, but you\u2019re guaranteed to see raw energy and talent on the stage at every show.<\/span><\/p>\n

Current band members include Max Williams<\/strong>, Tate Moore<\/strong>, George McConnell<\/strong> (of Widespread Panic<\/strong> fame), Robert Chaffe<\/strong>, and Dave Woolworth<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

He moved to Nashville in 2004 to pursue his music career but still comes back to play in Oxford because he loves it here. His bio says it best: \u201cWhile most artists are able to be likened to others (\u2018He sounds like ____\u2019)<\/em>, Webster\u2019s voice is one you just can\u2019t quite \u201cplace.\u201d His inflection and delivery of even the most simple arrangement is memorable and distinctive. In Nashville, a town full of different and unique, Calvin Webster is\u2026different and unique.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Cadillac Funk <\/span><\/strong>at<\/span> Rooster\u2019s<\/span><\/strong>

\n\"HALLCadillacFunk\"<\/a>Frontman Andrew Yurkow hails from Indianola (Mississippi home of B.B. King<\/strong>), so he knows a thing or two about the blues. And he and his band bring the funk everywhere they go. Whether playing covers like Parliament<\/strong> classics or Cadillac originals, these guys know how to get the crowd dancing.<\/span><\/p>\n
