The Oxford School District<\/strong> is taking a proactive approach to planning for the future through the development of a comprehensive Capital Improvement Plan that will guide facility improvements, renovations, and potential expansion projects over the next fifteen years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan is designed to address the district’s evolving needs while ensuring school facilities continue to meet the high expectations of the Oxford <\/strong>community. Key areas of focus include projected student enrollment growth, maintenance and modernization of existing facilities, improvements to learning environments, as well as athletic facility needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Capital Improvement Team<\/strong> consisting of district personnel, school administrators, parents, and members of the OSD Board of Trustees<\/strong>, is leading the planning process. Community members will also have opportunities to provide input as the district evaluates potential future projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Steve Hurdle<\/strong>, Chief of Operations, said, \u201cThe Capital Improvement Team is committed to developing a comprehensive plan that accounts for the diverse needs and expectations of our community. We want to ensure ongoing fiscal responsibility while continuing to provide excellent facilities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through stakeholder input and an extensive facility assessment, dozens of potential projects have already been identified. The Capital Improvement Team is currently evaluating and prioritizing these projects based on immediate needs, long-term growth projections, and the district’s commitment to providing safe, modern, and quality learning environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Current Capital Improvement Projects<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the district is exploring numerous potential projects, only three initiatives are currently active:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oxford Middle School:<\/strong> Finalizing exterior improvements to the campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bramlett Elementary School:<\/strong> Continuing renovations to improve and modernize the existing facility, with additional renovation work expected to go out for bids Winter 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oxford Intermediate School:<\/strong> Implementing safety upgrades to strengthen campus security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional projects are currently in the preliminary design and evaluation stages as the district continues to thoughtfully assess priorities and plan for future needs. As these plans progress, the district looks forward to sharing updates with the community when projects move forward for Board consideration or as part of the finalized Capital Improvement Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planning Today for Tomorrow’s Students<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Capital Improvement Team anticipates presenting the completed plan to the OSD Board of Trustees for consideration by mid school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development of this long-term Capital Improvement Plan provides an opportunity for the team and the Board of Trustees to thoughtfully evaluate potential projects, identify priorities, and make strategic investments that best serve students, staff, and the Oxford community. This process will help guide future decisions and ensure the district continues to fiscally plan responsibly for the growth and evolving needs throughout the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Oxford continues to grow, the Oxford School District remains committed to ensuring its facilities reflect the same high standards of excellence found in its classrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oxford School District Board of Trustees<\/strong> member Denson Hollis<\/strong> emphasized the importance of strategic planning and responsible investment in meeting the district\u2019s evolving needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStrong schools are built on thoughtful planning and a clear vision for the future,\u201d Hollis said. \u201cAs our district continues to grow, we must make strategic investments that address the needs of our existing facilities while preparing for future expansion. Our priority is to be responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars while ensuring our students, teachers, and staff have the high-quality learning environments they deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Capital Improvement Team will continue to provide updates as the planning process progresses and projects receive formal consideration by the Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
