{"id":165894,"date":"2026-09-16T11:58:11","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T16:58:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=165894"},"modified":"2026-09-16T11:58:13","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T16:58:13","slug":"malco-theatres-summer-family-film-series-gives-back-to-the-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/malco-theatres-summer-family-film-series-gives-back-to-the-community\/","title":{"rendered":"MALCO THEATRES Summer Family Film Series Gives Back to the Community"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>9-Week Event Benefited Various Children\u2019s Hospitals Across the Mid-South<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Memphis<\/strong>-based\u00a0<strong>Malco Theatres<\/strong>\u00a0is pleased to announce that the\u00a0<strong><em>2026 Midweek at the Malco<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0generated\u00a0<strong>over $30,000 for local children\u2019s hospitals across the Mid-South<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The weekly summer program kicked off June 3, featuring a different family-favorite film on screen through July 29 at theatres in <strong>Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Kentucky, Missouri, and Louisiana<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0Each participating location also had an auditorium dedicated to Sensory Cinema, with lights up and sound down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ever-popular annual event has been part of the area\u2019s summer calendar for over 30 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Beneficiaries of the 2026 program included Le Bonheur Children\u2019s Hospital (Memphis, TN), Arkansas Children\u2019s Hospital (Little Rock, AR), Blair E. Batson Children\u2019s Hospital (Jackson, MS), Norton Children\u2019s Hospital (Louisville, KY), Monroe Carell Jr. Children\u2019s Hospital at Vanderbilt (Nashville, TN), Children\u2019s Hospital of New Orleans, and ALSAC\/St. Jude.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2027 program is already in the planning stages, with the schedule to be released in the spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Memphis, TN-based Malco Theatres is a fourth-generation family-owned and operated business that reached its 100<sup>th<\/sup>anniversary in 2015.
