{"id":159213,"date":"2026-05-21T11:30:33","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T16:30:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=159213"},"modified":"2026-05-21T11:30:42","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T16:30:42","slug":"2026-youth-fish-camp-at-the-bob-tyler-fish-hatchery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/2026-youth-fish-camp-at-the-bob-tyler-fish-hatchery\/","title":{"rendered":"2026 Youth Fish Camp at the Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery is partnering with the National Park Service to host a fish camp for youth<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) Visitor Education Center (VEC<\/strong>) at the <strong>Bob Tyler Fish Hatchery<\/strong> is partnering with the <strong>National Park Service<\/strong> to host a fish camp for youth. The camp will be held on June 10,2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for youth ages 10-15. Youth will learn about fishing, the Hatchery, and the <strong>National Park Service (NPS) Junior Angler Program<\/strong>. The full day camp will include fish identification, water safety tips, a tour of the hatchery, and catfish fishing in the hatchery\u2019s VEC pond. Participants will also meet an NPS Ranger and learn more about the Jr. Angler Badge. Equipment and bait will be available for use during the camp. Youth completing the full day of activities will receive special items and earn the NPS Junior Angler Badge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program is free but pre-registration is required.
