Our kids are finally done with school, and it\u2019s time to plan for summer vacation. You don\u2019t have to go very far to have a fun afternoon adventure with your kids or grandkids. Gardening is a great afternoon adventure, and your backyard is the perfect place to have little fun. Extension Publication 2007, \u201cCrapemyrtle \u2013 Flower of the South.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\uf0b7 Plant warm-season grasses: Bermuda, centipede, zoysia, and St. Augustine (June to August).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\uf0b7 Replace turf in deep shade with ground cover: liriope, ajuga, vinca, or pachysandra.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\uf0b7 Summer annuals: ageratum, cockscomb, impatiens, marigolds, sunflowers, four- o\u2019clocks, and periwinkle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\uf0b7 Plant tomatoes late this month to ensure harvest late into fall.
