{"id":158380,"date":"2026-04-28T10:00:34","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T15:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=158380"},"modified":"2026-04-28T10:10:55","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T15:10:55","slug":"mississippi-songwriters-festival-returning-to-cleveland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/mississippi-songwriters-festival-returning-to-cleveland\/","title":{"rendered":"Mississippi Songwriters Festival Returning To Cleveland"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Mississippi Songwriters Festival will feature hit songwriters Bryan Kennedy and Ken Hart<\/strong> and more<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Mississippi Songwriters Alliance<\/strong> is returning to the Delta for the fourth <strong>Mississippi Songwriters Festival &#8211; Delta Region <\/strong>satellite festival in<strong> Cleveland <\/strong>on May 15-16 at<strong> GRAMMY Museum\u00ae Mississippi<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mississippi Songwriters Festival &#8211; Delta Region, with support from <strong>Visit Mississippi<\/strong> and <strong>Visit Cleveland<\/strong>, will feature hit songwriters <strong>Bryan Kennedy<\/strong> and<strong> Ken Hart<\/strong> along with 20+ regional songwriters, performing original songs in an \u2018in the round\u2019 setting at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. Regional songwriters will perform from 6:00-9:00 pm on Friday evening and 3:00-6:00 pm on Saturday afternoon, with each \u2018round\u2019 lasting 50 minutes showcasing 3-4 songwriters. The finale round, featuring two professional songwriters from <strong>Nashville<\/strong>, begins at 7 pm on Saturday night. A former college football player at<strong> Ole Miss<\/strong>, he\u2019s penned over 15 songs recorded by<strong> Garth Brooks<\/strong>, including three #1 hits, and spent over a decade on tour as Garth\u2019s road manager and opening act, performing for sold-out arenas around the world. Bryan holds a degree in journalism with a minor in recreation, and as the founder of <strong>The Bellwether Way<\/strong>, he now channels his experience into life coaching, offering leadership and guidance beyond the field, stage or court. Where others focus on stats or game plans, Bryan focuses on the soul, helping people find clarity, courage, and purpose. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally from Mississippi, Ken Hart moved to Nashville to pursue his songwriting career. Hart has written songs for<strong> Lee Brice<\/strong>, <strong>Jake Worthington<\/strong>,<strong> For King &amp; Country, Leah Blevins, Marshall Tucker Band<\/strong>, and recently had his song \u201cThe Door\u201d recorded by <strong>Little Big Town<\/strong>.\u00a0 Hart has recently authored a book titled<strong> Jesus Is Cool, But Christians Creep Me Out.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe old saying is so true\u2026\u2019it all begins with a song,\u2019\u201d says<strong> Tricia Walker<\/strong>, music ambassador for Cleveland. \u201cThe entire music industry is built on great songs  and the writers who create them. Partnering with the Mississippi Songwriters Alliance for this festival is a great way to celebratemany of the songwriters who live and work right here in the Delta region.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Songwriters will perform \u201cin the round\u201d on Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, and Saturday evening at GRAMMY Museum Mississippi at 800 W. Sunflower Road in Cleveland.
