{"id":158136,"date":"2026-04-21T17:19:28","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T22:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/?p=158136"},"modified":"2026-04-21T17:19:30","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T22:19:30","slug":"lafayette-county-man-arrested-for-aggravated-assault-on-county-road-225","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelocalvoice.net\/oxford\/lafayette-county-man-arrested-for-aggravated-assault-on-county-road-225\/","title":{"rendered":"Lafayette County Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault on County Road 225"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Lafayette County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/strong> has arrested\u00a0<strong>Joe Lester Jr. <\/strong>(44 years old), a <strong>Lafayette County<\/strong> resident, in connection with an investigation following a disturbance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On April 20, 2026, the Lafayette County Sheriff\u2019s Office received a call for service regarding a disturbance in the area of <strong>County Road 225<\/strong>. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the victim who advised being pistol whipped in the head during an altercation. The firearm was discharged during the assault, but no one was injured as a result of the weapon being discharged. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The victim identified the suspect, Joe Lester, who was apprehended by Deputies leaving the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigators were called to the scene and began the investigation.
