Clothes Closets <\/strong>across the Oxford School District<\/strong> are making a meaningful difference for students and families by providing access to clothing and essential hygiene items when they are needed most.\u00a0From Oxford Early Childhood Center<\/strong> to Oxford High School<\/strong>, each campus offers a dedicated Clothes Closet with free new or gently used clothing and new toiletry items for students who may be in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oxford School District is committed to supporting students both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring they not only succeed academically but also have the support they need beyond school walls. Thanks to the generous support of dedicated community members and partner organizations, that commitment is brought to life in meaningful and impactful ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Oxford Intermediate School<\/strong>, the Clothes Closet has grown into a community-driven effort rooted in compassion and service. For the past eight years, volunteers from Pinelake Church<\/strong> have supported this initiative by generously helping supply, organize, and maintain the closet, ensuring it remains a reliable resource for students.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, the initiative has been strengthened through additional community partnerships. Local Oxford resident NFL referee Brad Freeman<\/strong>, along with other crew members and support from the NFL Referees Association<\/strong>, has helped provide ongoing support to sustain the Clothes Closet.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brad and Tatum Freeman<\/strong>, whose children are Oxford School District alumni, have remained closely connected to the district through this work. Tatum Freeman plays a key role in maintaining the Clothes Closet at OIS and works closely with school staff to respond to both ongoing and urgent needs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by the impact of the Clothes Closet at Oxford Intermediate, NFL referee John Hussey<\/strong> launched a fundraising effort to further support this initiative. That effort has grown into the inaugural Zebra Open Golf Tournament<\/strong>, scheduled for April 20. Proceeds from the event will support OSD\u2019s Clothes Closet and provide resources for students in need.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Clothes Closet has been an incredible resource\u00a0for our students and families, providing not just clothing, but also essential hygiene items that many depend on. It helps remove barriers so our students can focus on learning with confidence,\u201d said OIS Principal Chase Goolsby<\/strong>. \u201cWe are especially grateful to Brad and Tatum Freeman for their role in supporting this effort. This initiative has already made a meaningful impact on our students and families.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As support for the Clothes Closets continues to grow, so does their reach across the district, ensuring that students have access to essential items when they are most needed. We are incredibly grateful to all of the volunteers and donors from across the Oxford community for supporting our clothes closet, and we are honored and delighted to have our clothes closets selected as the cause for this year\u2019s Zebra Open tournament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
