To celebrate that milestone, the Museum is hosting a full slate of programming on anniversary weekend, including a\u00a0<strong>Jimmy Buffett\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Coral Reefer Band Benefit Concert<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>Saturday, March 7, at 7:30 pm<\/strong>\u00a0hosted at\u00a0<strong>Delta State University\u2019s Bologna Performing Arts Center<\/strong>. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Museum\u2019s educational initiatives. The weekend is sponsored by\u00a0<strong>Visit Mississippi<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mississippi Humanities Council<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Mississippi Arts Commission<\/strong>, in partnership from\u00a0<strong>Delta State University<\/strong>. Additional sponsors will be announced soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0The anniversary weekend officially begins with a special performance by Grammy\u00ae-winning country star\u00a0<strong>Dwight Yoakam<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>Thursday, March 5<\/strong>, at Delta State\u2019s\u00a0Bologna Performing Arts Cente<strong>r<\/strong>. Tickets can be purchased at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bolognapac.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bolognapac.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The celebration will also include an anniversary ceremony on\u00a0Saturday, March 7, followed by a\u00a0<strong>Roots Music Festival<\/strong>\u00a0that will feature performances by<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Grammy\u00ae Award winners<strong> Bobby Rush<\/strong>, <strong>Cedric Burnside<\/strong>, and<strong> Boo Mitchell<\/strong>, along with children\u2019s activities and family-friendly programming. As the birthplace of America\u2019s music, Mississippi\u2019s cultural legacy will be highlighted throughout the weekend, aligning with the broader\u00a0<strong>America250<\/strong>\u00a0commemoration. Tickets can be purchased at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bolognapac.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bolognapac.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Friday, March 6<\/strong><br>The Memphis Chapter will host a songwriter-style program in the Sanders Soundstage at the Mississippi Museum. Artists participating in this program will be announced at a later date. This is a private event, but a limited number of tickets will be available to purchase for Museum Members at&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/grammymuseumms.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">grammymuseumms.org<\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Saturday, March 7 (11 am\u20134 pm)<\/strong><br>Grammy Museum Mississippi will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 am to commemorate and celebrate its first 10 years of impact. Immediately following the ceremony, the Museum will present a free, family-friendly Roots Music Festival on the Museum lawn. The festival will include free admission to both the event and the Museum, food trucks with food available for purchase, hands-on education programming from noon to 2 pm, and live performances by <strong>Hi Rhythm<\/strong>, Bobby Rush, <strong>Terrence and Marcella Simien<\/strong>, Boo Mitchell, and Cedric Burnside.
