On November 25, 2025, Investigators with the Lafayette County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/strong> received a report of fraudulent checks being used at the Chevron<\/strong> gas station on South Lamar Blvd<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On December 2, 2025 Deputies stopped the vehicle frequently being used by Katherine Joya<\/strong> on Highway 6<\/strong> West near County Road 171<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After concluding the investigation, Katherine Joya was subsequently arrested for False Pretense over $500.00. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katherine Joya appeared before a Justice Court Judge on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 and was issued a $10,000.00 bond. Katherine Joya is currently being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center<\/strong> on a hold for Immigrations and Customs Enforcement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
