University of Mississippi School of Business Administration hosting 24th annual event for professionals, students<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The rapid advance of artificial intelligence and other technologies and their impact on the banking industry are the focus of this year’s Banking and Financial Symposium<\/strong> at the University of Mississippi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s symposium, the 24th hosted by the School of Business Administration<\/strong><\/a>, is set for November 14, 2025, at the Oxford Conference Center<\/strong>. The daylong event also includes discussion on trends in mergers and acquisitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rebeca Romero Rainey<\/strong> is this year’s keynote speaker. Rainey is president and CEO of Independent Community Bankers of America<\/strong> and one of the nation’s foremost advocates of the community banking industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This year’s symposium promises to continue the tradition of high-quality content that has made this one-day conference one of the best in the nation,” said Ken Cyree<\/strong>, dean of the business school. “The attendance will be incredible and the record sponsor support is another indicator of the value that is added during the symposium.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The symposium begins with the annual Women in Finance breakfast featuring Kathy Kraninger<\/strong>, president and CEO of Florida Bankers Association<\/strong>, and Chris Malloy<\/strong>, Ole Miss<\/strong> men’s golf coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other keynote speakers include Brian Gardner<\/strong>, chief Washington policy strategist, and Charles White<\/strong>, managing director, both at Stifel<\/strong>. The day also includes presentations by Rodney Hood<\/strong>, former acting comptroller at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency<\/strong> and board member of the FDIC <\/strong>and Federal Home Loan Bank<\/strong>, and Jill Castilla<\/strong>, president and CEO of the Bank of Edmond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
